Not the closest spot if you are mainly in Seattle to see the main sights close to downtown, but the charm of it all was worth the longer distance.

Situated in Vancouver, within 10 km of University of Portland and 12 km of Moda Center, Briar Rose Inn Vancouver WA USA features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The property is around 13 km from Portland Union Station, 13 km from Lan Su Chinese Garden and 14 km from Portland Art Museum. The property is non-smoking and is set 12 km from Oregon Convention Center. We stayed 4 nights and wish we would have stayed longer. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed talking to Sallie and playing with the lovely dog Gracy. The breakfast Ted made was delicious and varied every day a little bit. Sallie had good (restaurant) recommendations for the area. Every room has its own charm and is decorated very comfy. We felt like home here and would come again every time :)

The property is around 8.4 km from Knitting Factory, 9 km from SkyRide and 9.2 km from Riverfront Park. The inn offers an indoor pool, hot tub and free shuttle service. The place is clean, reasonably priced. The staff are great and the breakfast is good. We used their shuttle service, which had no glitches. This isn't supposed to be a five-star resort, but a good value hotel for travelers, people working long distance, etc.. It's great for what it is supposed to be.

Very friendly reception and complimentary basket with snacks and drinks in the room.

Great place overall, very nice old house in convenient location. They no longer provide breakfast but there are many good spots nearby. Got a parking pass from host, who allowed us to give it back late on last day after checkout which was very helpful. Walked and took transit all over the city. Nice and safe neighborhood, much better than downtown if you plan on walking around at night. Price is reasonable.
