The city has high air pollution.
The city has high air pollution. It is the gateway to all the prominent northeast locations. Not a city worth taking a long halt. Two nights are decent enough the leave for shillong or Nagaland. Take a tour to Brahmaputra river front.

A very lively and bustling city.
A very lively and bustling city. Not too crowded like other Indian cities, with a population of around 1.50 million. Friendly people, good mobility options, some very picturesque locations within a range of 40 kms from the city. And, did not find too many beggars on the streets. Sensible driving . Most FoBs have escalator facilities motivating pedestrians to use the foot over bridges. Something other bigger cities need to emulate.
Drove around 500 kms in Assam. Was amazed to find most towns and villages garbage free.

Guwahati is a bit crowded city located in north east India.
Guwahati is a bit crowded city located in north east India. The main town of north east India. The connection with rest of India is preety good. An international airport (LGBI Airport), Two railway stations (Guwahati and Kamakhya) and a Bus Terminus. Construction works are preety slow. Travelling through the cuty might be bit time consuming becouse of slow buses. But in recent times, this has improved a lot. For rest if India, Guwahati might appear to be bit slow but the hospitality and honesty of local people can win hearts of many people. So do visit Guwahati if possible.

Best city in North East India for tourism (River cruise, rope way, hill safari), family and friends events celebrating; international conferences; excellent resorts for getaway experience including honeymooners, senior couples, adventure seeking groups base camp for exploring rivers, hills, wildlife sanctuaries…
This is a fraud hotel. There's no such hotel available. Non of the contact listed (generic numbers) is also reachable. Even the provided map location doesn't exist. They run the fraud by waiting till last hour so that customer can no longer cancel due to point of no return time, and then attempting to forcedly charging customers. There are plenty of such fraud rings running on Oyo and Booking.com. Beware of such frauds. Seems booking.com isn't able to curb such frauds running their rings.
Hotel Spring Brook is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Guwahati. The room was spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable furnishings and a modern bathroom. The staff were courteous and always willing to assist with any needs or questions I had. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a great selection of items to choose from. I would definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely stay at the Greenwood. The hotel and rooms were clean, neat and with lovely amenities making our stay all the more comfortable. Restaurant is lovely, spa services AMAZING, and staff attentive and helpful. We'd recommend to anyone for a home away from home vacation, a stop before or after flying or for business stay.
Location was good, a 10 minute walk from Paltan Bazar. The price was very cheap which suited a backpacker trying to manage on a shoe string budget. I stay in a single bed room with a shared bathroom which doesn't bother me in the slightest. I would highly recommend Namaskar Homestay who is travelling to Guwahati.
We wanted a clean safe stay in Guwahati. Namaskar Homestay met all our expectations. The staffs were polite and very helpful. The location was great. And the best thing that we liked was interaction with owner Ms. Rimli Das. She took personal care regarding housekeeping to make us feel at home.
It's a great place and the best part is its location. Being In the center of Guwahati you can access nearby places for daily essentials and for other shopping. I extended my stay for a few more days rather than trying other hostels. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Apple Tree is a good and affordable property in Guwahati. Our stay was comfortable and it is due to the staff who was on our flour. Very cooperative and very humble. Always at the door to ask for anything if we need. Such a sweet people in speech, manners and approach.
