The island is an hour trip via boat from Naples and well worth the time to get there. We traveled to Ischia to get away and it really gave us a chance to relax. We specifically traveled there to visit the Giardini la Mortella, known as one of the most beautiful private gardens in Italy. It was magnificent. On another day we visited the Castello Aragonese which has a rich history over the past 2500 years. Ischia has charm and friendly people and we plan on returning to this little paradise.

Brilliant. Definitely coming back I don't drive and was there solo and had a ball. Maybe not quite as walker friendly as i expected - easy to get buses around, but a few times i found google maps lied a bit about walkable paths... It was early May and everything was pretty empty. I liked that, but I suppose some of the larger restaurants and resorts i was recommended had a bit of a ghost town vibe. Could have spent every day at Posiedon spa and been very happy. A perfect location for relaxing trip. Nice place, nice peoples and plenty of options to spent your time. We traveled by car and it was a bit expensive to take the ferry, but other options are available to( bus from Napoli). We had the dinner in the restaurant and the lunch at Pizzeria Il Giardino. Ischia is lovely and scenic with an ancient history. Thermal springs abound all over the island and several spas abound to fir all budgets and needs. The local cuisine is seafood, mostly, the freshest and most varied I’ve ever run across though their best known specialty is a delicious rabbit dish. There are several picturesque historical sights and local vineyards to sample their lovely local wines. This is the second vacation we’ve taken there and look forward to our next! I would recommend the town of Forio, it being 25 minutes by car from the ferry port and central to other sights.PeterItaly

Even though you could tell a lot of the staff was new and there for the summer season, it was immediately apparent they had been supervised and trained exquisitely. The pools have to be the best on Ischia (I’ve stayed in four other upscale hotels, and this was the best, by far. Not even close). Really good breakfast and the dinner was pretty impressive too.

Many different angles of the hotel have beautiful views. The restaurant serves great food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, they even have eggs, bacon, and French toast, etc. which isn't common here in Italy. My friend and I were able to easily walk around Ischia. We never caught a cab at all. Also, the spa in the hotel is amazing!!! My friend really loved her massage and I loved my nails.

Didn't see any hotels on Ischia that I'd rather stay in and we explored almost the entire island. Taxis are rather expensive from Ischia Porto due to circuitous route so would advise either getting the bus to Forio then utilising the hotel's free shuttle bus or just phoning or using WhatsApp to contact the hotel to arrange pick up for less of a fee than the taxis charge at the taxi rank.

Everything is perfect: the garden, the newly renovated rooms, the stunning view, the food and especially the service! Everyone is very nice and the owner arranged everything so we had the perfect stay on the island. I strongly advise to stay in this hotel and have at least one dinner there. We will definitely come back!
