We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things.
It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors.
Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english.
Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

Oku-oi kojo, Yume no Tsuribashi...difficult to get to, but worth it. A must visit for those who want to get on hanging bridges, unmanned stations in middle of a lake, train lovers, nature enthusiasts and of course kids who love Thomas.

We only stayed in Shizuoka for 1 night and it was definitely not enough length. We saw Mt. Fiji and beaches, and also experienced hot spring. We went to the waterfall as well. All of experiences were enjoyable.
The owner and his wife were very friendly. They let us read all their manga and even lent us their bicycles, which allowed us to see all kinds of different thing in Shizuoka.
The place had a very relaxing traditional japanese feeling, which we really enjoyed.
They let us use all the facilities like the kitchen and fridge, so we could have even cooked our own dinner.
Location was great as well, since we had the bicycles, the beach wasn't far.
All that for a very cheap price.
I can only recommend staying here if you are in Shizuoka!!!
The host and the hostess were the greatest. They offered to pick us up and drop us off at the local train station. And even though it rained during our stay, the host offered to take us in his car to show us around and even had lunch with us. He is very friendly and invited us at the end of the day to join the party he had hosted each evening. He even has had two marriages result from stays at his place.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable! The amenities were fantastic with great quality.
The room was furnished with a big screen LED TV, very good for watching movies.
The bathroom were fabulous and exceeded my expectation.
Wi-Fi strength and speed was great.
Hotel location is right in front of Shin-Shizuoka station and really near to the Aoba symbol shopping district. (<5 minutes walk)
The location can't be faulted, it's only a short walk from Shizuoka station if you take the underground route. I quite liked the complimentary breakfast snacks and more importantly, the drinks dispenser on the evening. There was a small rotary clothes airer in the room which was appreciated. The toilet paper wasn't almost two-dimensional, which is a rarity for Japan.
Both single room and twin room were spacious than we thought. They were clean and comfortable to stay. We liked the provision of both bathtub and shower (Japanese style) which was safe for our elderly. Parking was just next to the hotel with food shops, convenient stores and health & beauty shop about 100 meter away, very convenient.
They have free dinner, beer and unli popcorn and free transpo. Staffs are very friendly even though it’s an old building, the amenities are still clean. They have a roofdeck where you can spot Mt. fuji. They are 10 min walk to Shizuoka station and the location is very nice if you want a quiet neighborhood.
Although Fuji-san was shy in our 2 nighter, the hotel is still a very good stay with amazing views of Shizuoka city. We had a wonderful dinner with great service at Garden Terrace. View sunset from nearby walking-distance Nihondaira Yume Terrace
Close to station. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good bathing on 14th floor. Room layout was good. Maybe a little squashed for two. Good room for one. Plenty of water in shower as with most Japanese hotels. Staff very attentive.
Very comfortable beds and reasonably sized room. Very close to Shizuoka station and easy to access. Staff is very nice and are helping the best they can. Vending machines and a microwave are also available.
Such luxury! Great onsen, breakfast, evening snack and happy hour, post-onsen ice cream, massage chairs.. 💆♀️ very close to Shizuoka station. Wish I had stayed longer than one night.
The location near the station & the value for the price. There is only women's floor and that floor you need to use the card key to get in the floor. I felt secure.
the personal is nice and helpful
the position is perfect , right outside of one of the exit of Shizuoka station.
breakfast is very good, a lot of selection.
It was about 10 mins walk from the station.
Location was good, restaurants, shops, convenience store was close as well.
Staff was very kind and cheerful.
