A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.AAnonymous

Bonuses were: the equipped kitchen (hob, pans, toaster, kettle, microwave, small fridge), I was thinking a small kitchenette but was happily surprised; the private lawn space to chill outside; the great shower water pressure. We knew the location wasn't in town but that suited us fine. I would choose this accommodation again over a hotel or lodge in the same price range.

The lodge is really well positioned only a few minutes walk from the town centre and a minutes walk to the waters edge. The rooms are big and bathrooms and kitchen are really well appointed.
