The Holy City
This holy city is located in western Saudi Arabia and is also known as Makkah. It is one of the Five Pillars of Islam to make a pilgrimage here, and therefore is a destination for millions of Muslims each year. Prophet Muhammad was born here and it is a sacred place for Muslims and the birthplace of Islam.
Non-muslims are not permitted into Mecca and the government of Saudi Arabia issues special visas for people making the pilgrimage. Most people coming to the Mecca will enter via the Hajj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah is the gateway to the city.
The Hajj has a fairly set itinerary including a visit to the Sacred Mosque, al-Masjid al-Haram, built around the Kaaba. Besides performing Umrah and prayers, it has a unique appeal to the heart and soul. Of course, it is the House of Allah!

I liked the trip.
I liked the trip. Hotel location is prime location and there service is very good.( Swissôtel Makkah) The only thing I can’t find kids entertainment or even near by Haram ( walking distance). The people selling in the street making more crowd while going to Haram or others asking for taxi ride. The virtual museum is good attraction. Especially for kids. Shopping is overpriced.

The moment you enter the Masjid Al Haram, you'll forget everything. Apart from that it also has historical places to visit in and around Makkah. A lot of restaurants and other facilities like departmental stores and barbers are available in the shared space of Safwa towers. Staff at the time of check-in and check-out were very fast and helpful. The bathroom was clean and had no problem with clogs. Water pressure was ideal in showers.

You can walk but takes approx 25 mins to get to Kaaba. Not bad, but some of the walk involves being roadside.
