We went to Bryson City to ride on the Old North Carolina...
We went to Bryson City to ride on the Old North Carolina Railroad on a trip through Nantahala Gorge. This trip takes 4 hours and is really nice.
It includes a stop at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. There is food, drink and alcohol available on the train, and also at Nantahala.
The restaurants in town were very good, especially Pasqualinos Italian Restaurant, which was excellent. There were cute stores, the town did not look tired, nor did it have lots of vacant store fronts. It has free parking, which is a nice change from some towns, and is highly walkable. There is a river running through it, which is quite pretty.
It borders Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and has access to several trails, including the Tunnel to Nowhere. The lodging choices were limited, but we didn't have trouble getting a room for the first weekend in May.

Bryson City is a beautiful little town with lots of cute...
Bryson City is a beautiful little town with lots of cute shops and interesting history. The town only has one sit down diner for breakfast and it stays very busy, The evening options are quite diverse and offer a variety of menus and prices, The streets are nice for walking along, and some benches are available to sit, the town features fiberglass 'trout' in different designs and colors, so look for these as interesting photo oppportunities. The Swain County Museum is really interesting as well. The are multiple hiking/walking trails in the area and don't forget to visit the 'Road to Nowhere'. The highlight of the town is the Great Smoky Mountains Railway and Miniature Train Museum.

Bryson City is a Gem!!
Things to do...
Bryson City is a Gem!!
Things to do... Definitely a must is the Train!!! Splurge for the first class tickets with lunch and request the Harper Car with Steve!!! (Adults only) It'll be worth the little bit of extra money, I promise!!
Next, Make reservations with GTR Adventures (right across from the railroad museum, on Depot St.) Ask for Robbie and he will give you an Itinerary of places off the beaten path to go see via ATV!!! Bucket List Trip, for sure!!
Falls, Road to Nowhere, Tubing, and you are so close to other Adventures in Cherokee, Fontana Dam, Maggie Valley...
One place for FOOD in Bryson City that I can recommend without hesitation is Pasqualino's Italian Restaurant!!! Hands Down, the best Italian ever and the best wait staff, starting with Jackson!!!! Amazing service!!! Sooo many Gluten Free Options, including freshly made bread from the local bakery from down the street! It was the only place we ate inside Bryson City, and we ate there twice!
There are lots of places to shop, snack and eat. We went during the off season. What we loves the most about Bryson City was the people. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed. Thank you Bryson City for the memories!

I love Bryson City!!
I love Bryson City!! It's not too far from where I live and it's just a nice getaway for the weekend. Lots to do here and great places to eat and drink. It should meet all of your needs. Plus the surrounding towns offer exciting activities also so you're in the center of it all. Definitely hit the Everett Diner for breakfast! Jimmy Macs and the Iron Wok for dinner. If you like a nice cold beer then definitely visit the local brewery, Mountain Layers Brewing Company.

We came for the train ride for our anniversary.
We came for the train ride for our anniversary. The town is very pretty at Christmas. But there is no where to eat. It's mostly fast food. 2 or 3 mom & pop places. We ate at 3 of those and they were very good but way too high for the food. Got burgers both places & it cost us as much for those as it does a steak dinner. And outside of downtown, everywhere we went everything looked run down and trashy. It's almost like there are no limit to how much trash and vehicles a person can put in their yard. Jimmy Macs was good, but pricey. Bryson City Bakery was really good but $28 for a breakfast sandwich, a coffee, a cinnamon roll & a breakfast casserole muffin.
The Grounds are beautiful. there are serene peaceful vinyets throughout the grounds. there is dining areas inside and out with gorgeous views of the mountains. The in even provides a recreational area including corn hole, a giant Jenna game. board games drawing blackboard, etc.
Each room has an outdoor sitting area.
The complimentary breakfast included ‘made from scratch hot dish, fresh fresh and the usual other breakfast items.
The inn is close to activities in Bryson City with easy access to highways to other area attractions.
McKinley Edwards Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious, extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed. The breakfast buffet has a good range of choice and the hot option varies each day. The owner is very pleasant and welcoming and we had a great stay. Bryson City is a convenient location for exploring the Smokies, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as the activities offered in Nantahala, Fontana, and Deep Creek. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
we enjoyed the cabin, although the dirt road to get up there is a little sketchy, you just have to maintain your speed going up and down, it was away from everywhere, so if you are looking for a quiet place to get away from people then this is your cabin. to get to Bryson City, it's only about 10 minutes away. the beds were very comfortable, The kitchen had more than enough supplies if you intend on cooking at the cabin.
We recently stayed at this lodge and were thoroughly impressed by the superb value it offers. The lodge is impeccably clean, is in a great location with easy access to trails (and Bryson City), and provides a fantastic night's sleep. One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing fire pits where we could gather and meet other guests. Would highly recommend.
its a great location and is quite and private atmosphere. its a bit of a walk up hill is the only downside. they have a great picnic area and it is right by the river. and it is down the road from Bryson city. i came here for the great Smokey rail road.
Loved our little cabin. Cosy for 2. Hottub was great.
Location was close to rafting, zipline, horseback riding.
Short drive to Railroad in Bryson City, Smokey National Park.Cabin was well appointed with towels, paper products, linens, pots n pans.
The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying here if you would like a basic hotel room in a great location within walking distance to Bryson City.
The view was fantastic. The scenery was great! The furniture was comfortable! The hot tub worked great! I will definitely stay here again when I return to Bryson City! Be sure to take photos of the crepuscular lighting.
Was very surprised by the overall quality of hotel! Everything met or exceeded our expectations We will definitely stay again in the future The location was perfect for activities in the area
Location was great that's why we chose Relax Inn.
The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable, and staff was helpful and friendly. We plan to stay again next time we visit Bryson City.
It was conveniently located to Bryson City and the restaurants there. The room was very clean and the place was extremely quiet. No breakfast, but there were places not far away.
Location was great. We were able to walk through the downtown area from the hotel. Deep Creek Trails are only a 5 or 6 minute drive. The hotel staff were very nice.
As to Question "did you pay for any extra services" Not at the hotel but spent plenty in BC. liked location and access to downtown. Quite residential area.
