Our estimate of Nevada went up thanks to our time in the Ely...

Our estimate of Nevada went up thanks to our time in the Ely area. It is very scenic. Of course, June is the wrong time to spend much time outside. It was incredibly hot. (But not nearly as hot as Las Vegas, which was 113 degrees Fahrenheit when we were there on the way to Ely.) Of course, gambling is everywhere in Nevada, but it is not as obtrusive in Ely. The "loneliest road in North America" begins there. It was in good condition and well worth the trip for the incredible views of mountains and wildlife.

I would but Ely needs a better choice of restaurants.

I would but Ely needs a better choice of restaurants. I asked about a place to eat mentioned Denny’s and was told it wasn’t the best place to eat. Went to McDonald’s instead and it was like we were bothering them. Food wasn’t very freash made.

Our room and building was ok. The jacuzzi wasn’t working.

Our room and building was ok. The jacuzzi wasn’t working. The front office staff said they were “waiting on a part,” put it was said in a very unsure and unbelievable way. Our friends, however (both in their 70’s), were given a room in a separate building on the second floor WITHOUT AN ELEVATOR!!! Not cool, La Quinta. Not cool. Plus, the sink was clogged, and it took an hour to get a plumber to show up!

Front desk was very accommodating. Room was clean. Everything worked. Apparently the hotel is upgrading some rooms. This room didn't have a microwave but we asked the front desk and she brought us one immediately.

Ely is a small town with very friendly people.

Ely is a small town with very friendly people. There are multiple hotels to stay in, each with a slot casino. The town seems to roll up around 8pm but the casinos are 24/7 and resturants within them stay open a bit later. The Great Basin national park is about an hour away and this would be where you would want to stay if you are visiting there as the town of Baker, where the park is located is very very small with only 1 shop and no gas station. We came for the Northern Nevada Railroad experience and my dad drove a steam and deisel engine train there. This is a museum as well. The railway is truly the town's gem. If you come for the railroad experience, take a day to drive to the National Park, and make sure you also visit the White Pine Museum if you like small county museums. The people of Ely were all very kind and genuinely nice. If you are just roadtripping the loneliest highway(Hwy 50) and drive through Ely, make a stop and check out the historical Hotel Nevada.

I love Ely, this is my 4th stay.

I love Ely, this is my 4th stay. I have always had a memorable experience. One thing I wish I could have enjoyed was the new art gallery and Mercantile downtown. We arrived after they closed and left before they opened. So cool hearing the train blow its whistle as it chugged through town as well. On a former trip we visited the White Pine museum and it far exceeded our expectations. Worth a stop, for sure!

We love this hotel! The rooms are great and the hotel just has that extra bit of personality that really sets it apart from the regular boring chain hotels. Not only are we comfortable but our dogs love it too. The rooms are large and we really appreciate the dog bed. The reading lights attached to the headboards are a fantastic touch. Wish we made it to Ely more often just so we could stay at this place! The staff are all wonderful and really go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a pleasant stay.

They are pet friendly. The little touches they did for you and your pet was amazing. Cute pet only section of the hotel, all themed out for pets. Room included a dog bed and a few dog treats. Nice area for you to take your dog out to potty which included baggies and a trash. There were several dogs staying and we never heard them in our room. Very quiet. Hotel beds were comfy. Loved having the resteraunt there in the hotel. Front desk staff were top notch!

We were very pleased with the location of the Motel and the size and cleanliness of the rooms and the property. Although the impression that staying in a motel is not as nice a hotel, Bristlecone Motel has been one of the nicer places we have stayed. We will definitely be visiting Ely, Nevada again and will be staying at the Bristlecone. Also, we traveled with our small dog and she was welcome on the property. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.

The staff was very attentive to our needs and checking in and out was great. Liked the history of an old hotel. There was never a long wait for the one elevator to take us up to our floor. The parking lot was full on Friday night but it looks like that problem will be solved with the new lot on the side is finished. Also we had our dog with us and being pet friendly was great. Beds were comfortable.

Absolutely love this hotel, very clean and quiet. Our first night we had a very noisy family above us, when we mentioned it to the front desk they moved us to another room and it was very quiet. Rooms are always neat, clean and well appointed. They are more expensive than other hotels in the Ely, NV area, but it's worth it for the smoke free, clean, quiet environment.

Ely is an interesting, historic town. The hotel is situated in the old city center and is a good base for walking to restaurants and other nearby attractions. Staff were very helpful in directing us to nearby places of interest.

We have been to several hotel/motels during COVID. Breakfast was part of the price in each. LaQuinta was the only hotel that provided that service, and it was great.
