I liked how close it was to the highway. Check in was easy because the person running the desk had me all set up.
Featuring an indoor pool and a hot tub, this hotel is 5 minutes’ drive from Coyote Del Mapais Golf Course. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi. A free continental breakfast is served to guests daily.
The Best Western Grants Inn is conveniently located off Interstate 40. This Grants, NM hotel is near Mount Taylor and the Ice Cave and Bandera Volcano, called "The Land of Fire and Ice".
Featuring a year round indoor pool and a hot tub, this hotel is a 30-minute drive from El Malpais National Monument. Free Wi-Fi is provided. A continental breakfast is served to all guests daily.
I like the location and cleanliness of the room and hotel.
I like the location and cleanliness of the room and hotel. The room and bathroom we had was large enough to be able to put our things down and not trip over them.
I liked the cameras in the parking lot and being able to park right outside the room as we had a car with gifts and luggage in it.
The breakfast was a little better than the usual hotel breakfast in this price range.
Would have liked an elevator if we stayed upstairs

THE BAD: Grants is a near ghost town and looks it.
THE BAD: Grants is a near ghost town and looks it. The current population is about 9000. Its economy was based on uranium mining, which is currently bust. My travel companion was shocked when she saw it. There are many boarded up and abandoned businesses. I grew up in Grants so it makes me sad to see it this way, having lived there in economically better days. But that is the way of mining towns, boom and bust. (I hope uranium mining will come back as I am a believer in nuclear power for energy.) That being said, Grants has some nice new parks in the downtown section. I'll also recommend a very decent restaurant, La Ventana for good food and drinks. I'm sure there are others which I'm not personally familiar with.
THE GOOD: Grants is a terrific base for exploring all around the area in at least a 50 mile radius. There is the very interesting Mining Museum right in town. There is El Morro National Historic Monument (Inscription Rock) to the southwest. There is Chaco Canyon National Monument (ancient Indian ruins) to the north. There is Mt Taylor to the east for coolness in the summer and a beautiful hike to the summit. There is El Malpais National Monument to the south with La Ventana natural arch and the El Malpais visitor center. There are Native American communities all round, Acoma and Laguna pueblos to the east and the great Navaho reservation to the west. And the country all around is beautiful (but then I grew up there). There are enough wonderful things in the area to keep you busy for days, if you wish.

Hot tub was great. Pet area was very lacking!
Hot tub was great. Pet area was very lacking! Toilet was too low to the floor. Breakfast with omelettes, biscuits and gravy would be super! Waffles were good! Complimentary bottled water at registration would be good! Warm cookies too!

Grants is a small town that old Rt 66 goes through as it parallels I-40. We do bits of old Rt 66 when able. Nice drive through town with a neon Rt 66 drive thru sign. Native designs and large Dream Catchers along Rt 66. Mining Museum (lots of uranium in the area) and a small Rt 66 museum none of which were open probably due to COVID. Most of fast food was on west side of town. El Malpais National Monument Visitor Center( which was completely open) is on the east side of town just south of I-40.

We didn't really explore as we were just staying the night.
We didn't really explore as we were just staying the night. The area where we were was clean and there was a nice clean Subway across the street with a great sandwich maker! No complaints of the area. Very pretty area! Easy on and off of the freeway.
No breakfast. Small bed was too small way old stiff mattress was from the 60s. One towel with a hole in it. Every piece of furniture was damaged or missing finish.
Overpriced for an old hotel. Heater ran all night with no thermostat went from stuffy hot to nothing.
One thing that I thought was great was the hardwood floor. Most lower price hotels have carpet and your feet get black from them even if they look pretty clean. We just stayed one night on the way through. We just need a decent place to stay and that filled our need.
The bathroom was nicely updated. Our breakfast was the favorite of 3 hotels we stayed at in NM and AZ- kids loved the automatic pancake maker and the adults loved the breakfast tamales.
Great place in grants to rest up and clean up while hiking the CDT. Good location for a hiker as it's half way between the two areas of town that I needed.
