Located in Petaluma town center, Hotel Petaluma, Ascend Hotel Collection was built in 1923. Downtown shops, restaurants, entertainment, and the Phenix Theater are less than 1 minutes’ walk away.

The only saving grace for this hotel is its location. It is truly in the heart of the town and walking distance from everything I needed.

This is more than a hotel, it is an experience. The moment you step inside you leave the rolling California hills and are transported to an idealized French escape only found in cinema. Your romanticized stay is then enhanced by the fresh morning crepes, pastries, and drip coffee. Simply put, it is rare to find places like this anymore, and I will certainly be returning every time I am in the area.

The room was comfortable and the high ceilings made it feel spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The fitness facility was nice. The hotel was convenient to historic downtown Petaluma (recommended if you enjoy Victorian architecture) and to the wedding venue in Tomales where we needed to go.

Petaluma is located in a lovely valley with gorgeous country around to enjoy. Good trails, access to nearby Bodega Bay. Lots of great restaurants and shops in Old Town Petaluma. I went for an annual family Halloween Party, so it was a quick stay. Perfect!

If you are there, try seafood! If you drive 40 minutes to Bodega bay, you must try clam chowder at Spud Point Crab Company and go to the next restaurant, Fisherman’s Cove and try clam chowder, oysters and halibut taco!

The floor and shower were dirty.
The floor and shower were dirty. We did not expect fancy accommodations, only a clean, simple room for an overnight stop, but were disappointed by the sloppiness of the housekeeping. The bedspread also had burn holes in it and should have been replaced.
Perfect location to visit the Sonoma valley in this clean, comfortable and spacious hotel.
Staff were really friendly with any queries, the outside firepitts were great to sit at in the evening and then pool / jacuzzi were clean and warm.
Easy access to some great bars and restaurants in Petaluma.
We absolutely loved the staff!! Especially Calvin!! The front desk gentleman Calvin is a cool cucumber and saved the review!! Calvin greeted us like a professional and made us feel at ease right away and gave us easy instructions on how to navigate the hotel.
Convenient hotel to Petaluma area with up to date room. Like how the room key turns on the electricity so that the hotel does not waste electricity in unused rooms and occupants don't keep unused lights on during the day.
Great converted hotel from a mill with lots of original features. Such comfortable beds and rooms. Very quiet and very clean
Petaluma is a fun little town to spend a night. Good choice of restaurants.
The hotel was in a great location and had a lovely feel to it after the renovation. The rooms were well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We booked this hotel due to its location during our US road-trip. There were restaurants and shops nearby; the highway was easy to be reached but it was silent during the night.
Great hotel, easy walk to downtown and to the rail station. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet.
The staff is always eager to help.
It's where we stay when in Petaluma.
