I love the ambiance of the hotel. It was central to a lot of restaurants, and the back of the hotel with the firepit was to die for.

I found out room to be perfect. Very clean and quiet. Once we figured out the a/c we got comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. We enjoyed the variety.

There was a small fridge, Kcup coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. There was no breakfast but I made our own using what was there and food I brought.
The front porch was perfect and we had coffee out there both days.
Free Wi-Fi and an outdoor swimming are featured at this Ruston motel. It is located just off Interstate 20. A cable TV is provided in each room at the Super 8 Ruston.
Ms. Ethel is what was GREAT about the hotel. When she saw there was a problem, she took care of me and my daughter (who had just gotten out of the hospital).
BUT...
When arriving, the front desk lady was not welcoming nor was she interested in the fact the room was not ready. I contact customer services and they took a full statement. They ensured I would hear back from the manager that "should have been on the property". That manager has NEVER been on the property each time I have stayed (or my daughter) there.

I love that Ruston is kind of small and that it is basically a college town. I love that the businesses and the people support and assist the students from LaTech. We were there to take senior pictures before my daughter and her boyfriend graduate in May. Ruston has tons of awesome looking murals to take pictures in front of as well as several bulldog statues that have been painted or decorated in some way. Each one is unique and artistically decorated by students from LaTech. Downtown is within walking distance of the college. Ruston is designed in a block format, so it is fairly easy to get around, just watch the one ways. It also has plenty of eating places to choose from, and it is only 30 minutes down the road Monroe.

We visited the Military Museum. It was amazing. The gentleman was passionate about sharing memorabilia and the history of our military forces.
There was so much to see, and it was most interesting.
We were there to watch baseball trials at LA Tech.

I was only in Ruston to get my granddaughter settled in her dorm at college. To that end it was a success. I like the feel and overall atmosphere of the town and were I younger could actually see myself living here. Getting around was very easy using my 5 year old car's GPS. Didn't particularly like the distance I had to travel for some of my favorite department stores (Target) and the airport but I could get used to it if I had to. The only other thing I really didn't like is how early some services shut down ie Walmart/Walmart gas station and some eateries.

There's Louisiana Tech.
There's Louisiana Tech. There aren't any main stores for shopping. We tried to find a neck tie for my son's graduation and went to 6 stores and couldn't find a single store that had a selection of ties! The only nice thing was a little coffee shop 2 miles from the hotel. There was one very nice Restaurant we went to Beau Vines. We had dinner for my son's graduation there. Very nice atmosphere and food was excellent.

All the convenience of a large city without the endless traffic. Maintains its small town feel while feeling vibrant and alive. Welcoming atmosphere, tons of food choices, shopping, art, athletics, and something for just about everyone.
The location was exactly what I wanted because it was right down the street from the college and the stadium. It was a fairly easy and quick check-in. We didn't eat the continental breakfast because we had family in town. It is also very close to the interstate. Overall, it was a decent place for the price and type of hotel since we were only staying for a couple of days.
It looks as though the hotel is preparing for renovations. There were old mattresses stacked in view in the front of the hotel. The breakfast area had furnishings stacked and covered in a large section of the room. The computer room had stacked items. I say this is something I liked because it looks as though the hotel is preparing for updates and/or changes.
Excellent accommodations with several stores/restaurants within a couple miles drive. Pet friendly. Great breakfast bar provided by friendly staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
