It's very difficult to figure out where to go to play in the snow & parking is a nightmare wherever you go. Traffic is bad. The casinos don't even try to entertain you or tease you. The slots just take your money without even stringing you along. Wow, haven't been to South Lake Tahoe in about 6-8 years and what a HUGE difference. It's become more commercialized and not as "homey" as it once felt. A lot of the older establishments are out of business with new stuff and construction taking over. The mom and pop restaurants we went to were pretty bad. It's gone down for charm, but up for convenience. Great groceries. Whole Foods, Safeway, Grocery Outlet... few bakeries, but we were shocked at the prices. $4.25 for a bear claw pastry! Still, it's beautiful and still worth the trip. Heavenly ski resort now requires reservations for parking on the weekends. They charge for cars with less than 3 people.

The location is great and close to stores and beach. They allowed pet in the area as well and the area is very quiet and safe. The only this we don’t like is no rug for the bathroom and the entrance door. They put a white towel instead. And the window or vinyl were dusty. Overall we love the place and we had a great stay. Park your car for the trip to South Lake Tahoe and there's plenty of things to do within walking distance.
