Squire Resort at the Grand Canyon, BW Signature Collection, hotel in Tusayan

This Arizona hotel is 10 minutes' drive from the entrance of Grand Canyon National Park. This hotel offers 4 on-site restaurants.

My wife and I stayed here for our visit to the Grand Canyon, which is only 15 minutes away. The lobby was extremely nice and the staff was very friendly & efficient as they were extremely busy @ 5:00 PM. I was a little hesitant about the extra $20/per day resort fee as the room was $350+ Our room smelled clean, with crisp white sheets, bed and pillows were extra comfortable. Room was reasonably quiet considering how crowded the resort was. Needed some extra comforters which were not in the closet? I loved the shower pressure. We experienced a problem with the jetted tub and were moved to a new room the following day. I want to say that they stepped up to compensate us for the inconvenience which helped my appreciation of the services. The outside area is tremendous. The outdoor heated pool & hot tub was great. Be wary as the chlorine levels are very high in the pools and hot tubs; especially the indoor ones. The outside area has so much for families & couples: including multiple fire pits with nightly s'mores, full size chess game, and ping pong and drink tables with swing seats. They also have a pub, bowling alley, quick convenience center [snacks] & memorabilia store. This place did have unlimited free Starbucks coffee, both in the room and up-front in the lobby which came in handy every morning waking up at 5AM to go. Breakfast there (extra cost $20/PP) which was plentiful, great variety and of reasonably good quality. Dinner was excellent [1night] but the staffing shortage was evident! Very slow service. Food is definitely pricey, but that's to be expected right next to the Grand Canyon. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the laundry was free to use (you need your own washing/ drying products) which was a great help after a few days hiking in the Canyon. My main issue was room/ facility maintenance. Extremely slow to respond even with extra time. Wall plugs were so loose, plug cords fell out of them.

The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon, hotel in Tusayan

Located in Tusayan and with Grand Canyon Village reachable within 6.9 miles, The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon has concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi throughout the...

I would stay here again because it is so closely Grand Canyon and it seems like the nicest hotel that’s not inside the park. However, it would be nice to have some form of breakfast that was complementary $17 for adults and $50 for kids. It’s just ridiculous when there’s a McDonald’s right next-door and I can guarantee you that the breakfast being served at the hotel is not much better than what they serve at McDonald’s. Just do some upkeep maintenance fix some things keep it clean and the hotel would be fantastic. Your savage is amazing though! Very, very friendly and helpful!

Tusayan offers a reasonable alternative to the usurious prices Xanterra is asking to stay on the South Rim of the canyon. The town itself seems to have been built last week and there's nothing to do there after 8:30 pm. Having said that, the town does offer the most vegetarian friendly steakhouse imaginable (yes, looking at you Yippie-Ti-Yay) and a few other restaurants that are not national chains as well as a post office that . . . functions, tho the postmistress is not a very polite representative of the federal government.

The staff does not speak my language and there are some offers that they offered me but they did not tell me that Mondays did not apply. They did not know how to tell me where the entrance or the attractions for the Grand Canyon were, I would have liked information for any day of the week to be available . The place is pleasant, it is cold, the landscapes are very beautiful.

Tusayan is a cute, one-main-street town just south of the south entrance to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. People are very friendly here and Tusayan offers hotels/motels, restaurants, nice souvenir shopping, a homemade fudge/ice cream shop (that stays open later for those with a sweet tooth!), gas station, and bus stops with free shuttles that take you into the Grand Canyon area. As well, several Grand Canyon tour companies pick up in Tusayan. We really enjoyed our stay there! Just beware, the elk can get really close to/onto the roadway in the evenings. We were greeted by a small group of them very near to the first roundabout coming into Tusayan proper when driving in from the Camp Verde area. We enjoyed our meal at the Foodie Club - fresh ingredients/cool breakfast place with some other tasty stuff on the menu. And enjoyed the homemade fudge (lots of flavors available, they'll give you a sample to try a few if you can't decide) at Grand Canyon Chocolate Factory in Tusayan. We also loved the wide variety and pricing of souvenirs at the Grand Canyon Trading Post in Tusayan.

I liked that Tusayan was only about 6 miles from the Canyon.

I liked that Tusayan was only about 6 miles from the Canyon. We drove to the park at 7 AM and had breakfast at the El Tovar hotel in the park. No waiting to enter the park, and only a short wait for breakfast (with a window view of the canyon). The town felt safe and was very quiet at night.

The Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon is excellently located for visiting the Grand Canyon. Having free parking at the hotel was great and it took us ~20 minutes to drive to the Grand Canyon Visitor Centre. Our room was a King Suite which was clean, spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The complementary morning buffet breakfast was excellent and the in-room complementary coffee from the Keurig coffee maker was great.

Beautiful hotel. Easy transit to Grand Canyon National Park. Staff were friendly and helpful. This isn't related to the hotel in any way. My suggestion is to pick up food and drinks, including water, long before exiting Route 40. Food in Tusayan is expensive. Bring your water, salad mixes, healthy food. The hotel is lovely and would be our first choice should we return to Tusayan.

Location from the Grand Canyon park entrance was perfect. I was pleased with the room price I paid, which included standard hotel breakfast. The room was nice and large. Beds were comfortable. It snowed the night we stayed, but our room was warm & cozy. There are several food options nearby. We ate supper at a steak restaurant within sight from the hotel parking lot.

This is a really nice cozy hotel with good facilities. An excellent restaurant for dinner. Small indoor pool and a hot tub. Easy parking and plenty of other restaurants and shops within walking distance. National Park entrance is just a few minutes drive, but be sure to get there early; later in the day, the queues were stretching up to Tusayan general store.

Quite a big hotel, but I think the proximity to the National Park creates the need for a lot of rooms. We liked the proximity to the Park, we spent the night before exploring the Park itself. The village of Tusayan itself is nothing special, it offers some restaurants, but we just ate in the restaurant in the hotel itself, which was quite good.

This place far exceeded our expectations. The room was big and very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were great. There is a spa inside the hotel which was lovely. Great location to the grand canyon which was about a five-ten minute drive into the park. I wish we could have stayed here longer.
