I have always wanted to see Vicksburg after learning about...
I have always wanted to see Vicksburg after learning about it's importance during the Civil War. The Ken Burns documentary covered this major battle, and how it changed the course of the war. The military park was incredible and we spent the extra money to hire a tour guide who rode with us as we drove through the park. Absolutely worth every penny! We stayed at the historic Bazsinsky House just across from the beautiful courthouse, and within walking distance of downtown and the river. I wish I had done more research ahead of time about what all there was to see, and ended up not having time to explore more of the area. We had a delicious dinner at the 10 South Rooftop Bar and Grill that overlooks the river, and saw a beautiful sunset. Went to the Civil War Museum in Downtown and had a wonderful visit with the owner. His collection is incredible, and he is so knowledgeable.

Nice town with some history and quaint antebellum houses.
Nice town with some history and quaint antebellum houses. Lovely Southern hospitality. A couple of good museums. Good music and beer at the Key City Brewery (although food not the best). If you have the time then visit ‘Under the Hill’ and especially the Cemeteries and War memorials run by the National Parks Service.

Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead...
Great little town but like many towns in the US it is dead commercially.
However there is a very interesting Civil War Museum run by an individual who is a memorabilia collector. He has created a very interesting little museum packed with all sorts of weapons, equipment, clothing and documents from the Civil War era.
There are all sorts of retail outlets and eateries outside the town, but i am always dismayed that there isn't a civic support for bringing businesses back into the centre of small towns and cities.
Its the same in Lafayette LA, Chanpagne-Urbana IL and Clarksdale TS.
The town centres are dead.

The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished.
The historic area we were in was extremely impoverished. The area was filled with abandoned and run down buildings. The downtown area wasn’t bad, but everything else surrounding it was beyond terrible. We found an amazing restaurant downtown. 10 South Rooftop-it was the only highlight of our trip there.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was exceptional. I requested a non-smoking king bed and worried about the room may have some smoke smell in it since it is associated with a casino. No smoke smell! The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was large. The price was very acceptable for the area.
The casino across the street from the hotel has a Tesla Supercharger. I was able to charge my vehicle while eating at the casino.
A stunning property located in a quiet residential street just a short, pleasant walk from downtown Vicksburg. Very friendly, welcoming staff and I could swear the bed in the Fannie Suite has magical healing properties; I’d been plagued by back & shoulder pain driving and sleeping in random beds during my trip, but 1 great night’s sleep at Oak Hall cured that. Highly recommended.
This was a great stay and a fun location in Historic Vicksburg. It was close to many of the historical homes and parks and there were also many great restaurants and shops close to the apartment. The apartment was very clean when we arrived and had everything that we needed for our brief stay.
The facility was excellent. The room was huge, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was first class. Andrew was very friendly and professional. We recommend The Bazsinsky House to anyone staying in the Vicksburg area. We will stay there again!
The handicap roll-in shower was as advertised. They had added no skid squares to the shower floor. An issue we have had
with other roll-in showers in other hotels. Plenty or space in room for a wheelchair to maneuver.
The food truck was nice, the casino was OK and only one ATM worked, and the staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful and the location was good but you couldn’t get to the water or see much on the first floor.
Great rooms, very clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was good, and the fresh fruits were great. We did not test the pool but it seemed quite nice. Hotel Very family friendly with nice restaurants near-by!
The hotel was conveniently located by the Vicksburg Battlefield and near US 61. The price was very good and the room was clean. I was given an upstairs room away from the elevator, which I requested.
Beautiful old historic house, furnished true to the era.
Spacious room with lots of i formation on the area.
Delicious breakfast.
Lovely host.
Vicksburg is a very nice town with lots of places to eat.
The hotel is old. The computer system went down during check in making the process take over 20 minutes but the staff was super friendly and handled it well.
