This is a safe location. I stay at Hiltons but a visitor was murdered when refusing to give his cell phone on a walk near the Hilton. We loved the hotel, the staff at reception were exceptional. So lovely and friendly and smartly dressed as professionals. The rooms were great and we felt safe at the hotel. The new Italian restaurant had outstanding authentic food with a wonderful chef from Venice.

A lagoon-style swimming pool with a waterfall and a garden is offered at Mandarin Oriental, Santiago. Free parking is available. One of the best Hotels I’ve ever been! The staff is incredible, the rooms huge and beautiful, great architecture. Early checkin was no problem and I even got a coffee offered while waiting! Lovely pool.

Renaissance Santiago Hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool and free WiFi in Santiago. Parque Arauco shopping centre is just 700 metres from the hotel. Our room was fabulous and very quiet which we had asked for and very clean too. The breakfast for the two days we were there was exceptional as were the staff especially Natalia and the front of desk man who was very friendly and explained where everything was. The staff couldn’t do enough for us.
