I booked Garden River Suite but got a free upgrade to Executive River Suite and delicious afternoon tea treats. It was a super location close to all the sites we wanted to visit. Luxurious ambiance, new property, and great care for detail, service and cleaning. The concierge booked a fantastic Kaiseki for us- super attention, organization, and real love for their work. 🍾 🥂

He welcomes you with kindness and explains everything about the house in a simple and practical way. The place is spotless clean, the rooms are comfortable for a traditional house in Kyoto, the toilets have the best equiped technology, showers are clean and nice. And the area around the house is worth discovering. Taniguchi-san will give you tips and a map. And everything for a really affordable price. This place is gold !

The hotel was just perfect, I found out about it by coincidence and couldn’t not take a room and enjoy at least a day before I leave Kyoto. Beds are very comfy, excellent service, friendly staff, breath taking views, a mix of modern/ traditional Japanese design.

This property is a good find. Very spacious and a good value for money. The appliances are high-end, including the toiletries! Below are the positives about the property, but more than those it was the hospitality of the owner, Mamoru-san, that won as over. He welcomed us with some snacks and drinks in the fridge, and helped us plan our travels for the next few days and with arranging our luggages for transport to the next hotel. + size as it fits at least a family of four + mix of modern and traditional structure + facilities and appliances + heaters at every corner of the villa + Netflix on TV + picturesque gardens + distance from bus station + welcome snacks and drinks in the fridge + owner’s and staff’s hospitality
