Volcano Eco Cabin & Eco Lodge

Volcano Eco Cabin Retreat is a chalet situated in Volcano, 16 km from Kilauea and 9.6 km from Volcano National Park's entrance. Offering free private parking, the chalet is 15 km from Thomas A Jaggar Museum. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. This “cabin/lodge” is amazing! We stayed in the “lodge”, so cannot comment on the smaller “cabin”. We were there for 6 days, and had a huge storm/ hurricane for 2 days. We had solar power with propane heat and stove when everyone else had no power. All stores, hotels, Volcano National Park all closed down. We loved the huge windows to watch the rain and wind. The king bed and soft duvet and pillows made sleeping so cozy. We enjoyed the good WiFi with Netflix before the storm brought it all down. Loved listening to the coqui frogs at night and counted 12 different bird species during the day. Shower had plenty of hot water. Purified rain water was the most delicious water we’ve ever had.
Castle Waimea Country Lodge

Located at the base of Mauna Kea Volcano, this upcountry Waimea lodge offers cable TV with work desk and fans (available upon request) . Hapuna Beach is 15 minutes’ drive away.
An en suite bathroom is provided in each room at Castle Waimea Country Lodge. A work desk and fan are also included.
Awful awful place. Do not stay here. If you do... Well, I might have a harder time getting a room and/or paying more. So, yeah, definitely do not stay here. 😉

Arnott’s Lodge is nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Hilo, just steps away from the ocean. Arnott’s location is ideal for guests who love a calm and peaceful atmosphere and is centrally located to many of Hilo’s best beaches. Onekahakaha Beach Park is 0.3 mi, Keaukaha Beach Park (Puhi Bay) is 0.4 mi, Carlsmith Beach Park is 0.9 mi, and Richardson’s Ocean Park (Wai’uli) is 2.0 mi from Arnott’s Lodge. We were on a budget which is difficult in Hawaii but this property helped us sleep five comfortably. Very friendly staff at check in. Accommodations were modest but so is the price so that’s ok.

This is a charming lodge in the little town of volcano. Beautiful spacious, comfortable rooms. Lovely hot tub. The restaurant was excellent!

Raven and Mark are so welcoming! Raven’s breakfast are exceptional and Mark’s advices (visits) and stories are amazing. The location is great your are close to everything. The lodge is very exotic and peaceful. The sunrise on the sea from the balcony was just a blast every morning.

This cottage is now my top-rated lodge ever. I never expected an inn to be so incredibly beautiful，cozy and dry （compared to other mountain inns）What surprised me even more is that several extremely friendly cats would approach you for a rub. My heart just melted here.

Perfect starting point for the Volcano Park, only 5 minutes from the entrance but literally in the forest so very quiet. Restaurants and shops within 5 minutes by car. The Lodge has a very well equipped kitchen available if you want to prepare your food by yourself. Jon the host ensures that the whole Inn is always very clean and tidy and he is also very helpful when you need anything.

We stayed in the lodge. It was very pleasant and new. The grounds were lovely and had many fruit trees growing around. The amenities were awesome. Everything we needed was available. They even included some food items as the location is distant from shopping.

Kilauea Lodge was everything we love - relaxed, cozy, and incredibly beautiful. Staff were very nice and helpful and the surrounding areas are as magnificent as you would imagine. Highly recommend.

The location was fantastic. We were able to travel all over the northern coast line very easily. And we loved heading back on the dark roads to the secluded, mellow area where the lodge is. We liked how we were able to pick the fruit of the property as well, and coffee is provided if you’d like to make it, and they have an outdoor kitchen set up if you would like to cook your own food.

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing here. You really feel like you’re sleeping in the rainforest, away from the rest of the world, able to disconnect and find peace. The staff were all very kind, all the guests seemed to know each other and were very friendly, and the food was delicious. I stayed with my son but I could see how this would be a great place for romantic partners to escape together. We stayed in one of the rooms in the lodge so it was a great price for a place to sleep and clean up before exploring the area.
