It felt like a throw back to the 50s I loved the vibe! The rooms with two queens had separate bedroom that closed for privacy, the beds were comfy, the little town has everything you need including great food and provisions. You are right across from the ocean - go!

At the motel every room has a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a kitchenette, a dining area and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a shower and a hairdryer. Free WiFi is available to all guests, while certain rooms here will provide you with a patio. At Wheeler on the Bay Lodge and Marina the rooms have bed linen and towels.

Very nice place just by the water. It is so quiet and calm and very comfy beds. The staff is very helpful and gave me breakfast to bring to my room in order to reduce people taking up space in the small lobby. Walking distance to café and restaurants and shops. Free parking. No issues whatsoever.

Very clean, tidy motel. Great value in a high priced area. Would recommend, if you're looking for a clean place to stay on the coast, in Manzanita, this is it and don't need anything fancy. Walking distance to the beach.

The view might have been nice, as the motel is located on the beach, but the pool house was in our way.

We have stayed at this motel many, many times over the past 25 years. It's basic, reliable lodging for a modest price in a FANTASTIC location directly across from the beach. Full ocean view, nice gas fireplace, good mini-kitchenette, and walking distance to all of downtown Manzanita. Lots of off-street parking, and an outdoor pool for summer.

The motel is situated on the beach. The rooms were spacious and very clean, especially the bathrooms. The room had a gas fireplace. The desk attendant was very friendly and helpful.

Location on beach, and easy to walk around cute little vacation town. Nice old pool was sparkling clean. Old 60s motel was updated but still an old motel. Bed was great, new beds so comfortable. Tiny kitchenette was well stocked. Lots of parking, on the side where it doesn't obscure view.

The location and view are what I love most about Sunset Surf Motel. I can always see the sea and it seems a front yard, just a step away. To me that is the main reason for going to the ocean, to be near it and a part of it.

Well maintained, very clean, comfortable room in a family-run motel. The "kitchen" is very small but functional for simple tasks. The staff was helpful and the location was great for beach walks and walking to restaurants. We'd stay there again.

Amazing location right on the beach! Definitely could use some updates, though it was clean and relatively comfortable. Probably what you would expect from an older beach motel, which was great for our trip. Walking distance to shops/restaurants in town (though many were only open over the weekend) and having the pool was a nice touch!

This was a nicely updated motel with wood floor and modern decor. Small fridge was great for leftovers and drinks. There was room to set up dog bed. Restaurants in Manzanita are wonderful and walking distance to beach and shops.
