If you like to gamble. If you want that Nevada experience, but not the crowds of Vegas. Laughlin is the place for you. The Avi was perfect. The rooms are not fancy, but the beds are great. The food was good, and the casino was cozy. The kids had a ball as well.
Laughlin isn't as frenetic as Vegas. Nights are quiet, river is peaceful and gaming is plentiful without the crowds of Vegas. There is a time difference between Nevada (Laughlin) and Arizona (Bullhead City) across the river of 1 hour.
It was our first time visiting Vegas for pleasure. We don't drink and we gamble very little but we found Vegas isn't all about gambling and drinking. We found it to be safe and there are many things to do or see. I wish Canadians were as friendly and nice to chat with as the people of Nevada.
A must see is the Wetlands, and of course Hoover dam with the city that built the dam Boulder city ,the only city in Nevada that still does not allow gambling. This charming city will relax you and you'll forget all about that gambling.
Colorado river is the only thing of value on the Nevada side. Everything thing else should be destroyed and rebuilt! Utter filth ! Food sucked If you’re not 80 yrs old, have to ride a scooter, while having to haul your own oxygen tank and smoke a complete carton of cigarettes every hour and sit in the most disgusting, vile places and throw your money away if this is you’re idea of a good time, then by all means go to Laughlin. Seriously regret not taking any photos, but look’em up there online, bed bugs and all.
Reno has very much suffered from the Indian casinos taking away their once thriving business. It shows in many ways, starting with a run down feeling of the city and hotels. But, being that there is only a few places in Nevada worth staying at. Reno is a good choice.
In Vegas for 8 days 7 nights...took a road trip around the Grand Canyon in the middle of the trip. Highly recommend renting a vehicle and getting out of the city if you are staying for more than a couple days. Nevada, Arizona and Utah are stunningly beautiful if you are into hiking and the outdoors. Las Vegas the city has so many things to offer as well but it is all very expensive.
There’s more to Reno than the casinos. Highly rate the Nevada Museum of Art, beautiful Riverwalk, and many nice public art. Good restaurants nearby especially La Famiglia across the river.
The Virgin River Casino resort was an absolute bargain for accommodation. We enjoyed the Casino and the dining facilities. A good stop over for those entering or leaving Nevada,.
Easy to get about city. Many things to do besides the casinos. Many good restaurants, Mario's Portofino, Naan and Kabob, Opas, Black Bear Diner, Great Basin Brewing, Bavarian World, Homage Bakery. Riverwalk, Idlewild Park, Galena Creek Park, the Nevada Museum, UNR museum,
easy to locate, clean, super friendly staff, 2 complimentary drink tickets, at checkout 2 complimentary breakfasts from Dennys. Stayed with a pet, pet fee was minimal and staff was super friendly to our pet as well. After experiencing a stay at Hotel Nevada, you can tell they greatly value and respect their customers! Also the elevator was clean and ran great, I know it’s a little thing but lots of modern hotels today have old rickety elevators, but not this one, functions like new! Definitely Highly recommend!!! We plan on staying again!
1) I was en route to California via Reno. Due to Reno's proximity to Lake Tahoe etc., the hotel prices are generally high for Nevada. This hotel in Fallon is nearby and is reasonably priced. 2) The hot breakfast was FABULOUS. The variety of selections was huge for a hotel its size. The lady who worked there was very welcoming and worked diligently to keep everything well-stocked. Their coffee also tasted better than most hotels'. If you stay here, don't miss the breakfast and the coffee!
I have been staying at the Whitney Peak since they opened in 2014 (I was so excited to find a hotel in Reno that wasn't a casino!) - and it has just gotten better over time. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean, and nicely decorated and all of the staff is friendly and professional. We love the location - we can easily walk to the River Walk, the Nevada Museum of Art and some of our favorite restaurants (we also love the restaurant in the Whitney Peak). It's also a great value.
Our stay was really great. Actually the resort was everything we needed after busy journey through Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Really comfortable room and bathroom. Great restaurant with fair prices and great staff (Jerry you were amazing :) ) Spectacular swimming pool with stunning views over the mountains. Beautiful hotel surroundings with very well maintained garden. Last but not least - great location when you want to visit Death Valley. Really recommend this place!
We were very pleased with the location of the Motel and the size and cleanliness of the rooms and the property. Although the impression that staying in a motel is not as nice a hotel, Bristlecone Motel has been one of the nicer places we have stayed. We will definitely be visiting Ely, Nevada again and will be staying at the Bristlecone. Also, we traveled with our small dog and she was welcome on the property. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.
Baker
this hotel was buy far the most surprising of our road trip. on our way to Great Basin we stopped there. literally located on the border of 2 states. Nevada and Utah. the gas station is in one state and the hotel in the other one. you have the 2 states sign outside of the hotel. the room were comfortable with a private bathroom. the night was really calm and the entrance of Great Basin is only 20 minutes away. the staff was really nice and helpful.
Ramada hotel - Elko Nevada. I was grateful to arrive at the Ramada. My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and since then I feel like they must have painted the walls and done a little upkeep to the rooms. The price is very reasonable and pet friendly. It was a great deal for the price. The beds were really comfortable and it was extremely clean and affordable. The shower was nice and clean too.
Great location for the Hoover Dam - this is the first Casino you arrive at in Nevada from Arizona - historically was a leader in its field. Entrance hall traditional. Staff lovely. Good breakfast food and options. Decor dated in rooms - but clean. Casino and hotel very quiet - not sure where all the customers were. although we arrived quite late and left quite promptly.
Clean room, nice staff, very good complementary breakfast, modern, quiet, pleasant and comfortable, seeems to be a new hotel in backyard of big old Casino building, good lokation for Boulder City and Hoover Dam, we stayed one night as starting point for our road trip through nevada, az, route 66, california a.s.o., would stay here again at any time!
Location was as good as it gets for access to Valley Of Fire State Park which by the way is a little gem, a microcosm of all the best bits of Nevada and Utah. The hotel is not fancy and the breakfast could have been a bit better but perfectly adequate and all in all good value given its location.
such a sweet little hotel, very spacious. You could tell it was recently renovated or remodeled. It was very clean and the staff was amazing. Unfortunately we were just passing through but the town was so cute, be sure to eat at the coffee cup. I would fly back to Nevada just for this town!
Elko
The room was fine but Elko is a very expensive town due to Nevada Gold Mines being the largest employer in the region. They use a lot of contractors for temporary work who fill the motels/hotels. The motels/hotels take advantage of this and charge exorbitant amounts to stay.
We need to stay in the middle of Nevada on our driving trips from Bay Area, California. Tonopah is our usual overnight top and we are very satisfied with Belvada Hotel. We plan to stay there again when needed. We did not have the breakfast there, so no comments.
Elko
This was the cheapest hotel on Booking in Elko, but the reception was friendly, it was very clean and the beds were super comfy. If you're looking for a cheap, but clean and comfortable stay on your pass through Nevada, this is an excellent choice.
Great location in central Stateline, Nevada. Close to beaches, shopping, entertainment, restuarants. The lodge was older, but clean, large rooms with fireplace, kitchenette was great, separate bedroom was nice. Staff was great and very friendly.
The hotel was well set up and the parking lot was huge with many choices and even some shade from the hot summer sun. Staff was great, exceptional actually and I would choose this again if I find myself in this part of Nevada.
The Hotel is Beautiful in and of itself. The bed and sheets were decadently comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I truly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend to anyone visiting Tonopah Nevada.
Having been “avalanched” in the Sierra Nevada, and having managed two days after to arrive to Reno, we were looking for a hotel in front of the airport. This Hyatt is the place for that. Nice staff. Very clean place
The staff is absolutely amazing. We have stayed at this hotel for many years the night before the Nevada Day parade. The rooms are always clean. Even with the negatives the hotel is a good value.
It was very quiet. The room was wonderful, natural wood counter in the bathroom. Eclectic and fun decor. Everything you would expect in a historical hotel in an older Nevada town.
