Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

the breakfast could be improved
clean place, nicely situated just outside the town but not too far, and just at the start of a great hiking footpath. Hostel comfortable and nice, arranging hosts.

You need a taxi to go to town or to the airport, but that was easy to arrange.
Nice clean room with perfect view on the harbour. Excellent hosts!!

Rather far from town but the amazing view makes up for it.
Very nice, comfortable B&B with lovely view of town, port and Beagle Channel . Hosts are wonderful, friendly and very helpful. We have already booked to stay again . Highly recommended

There is simple breakfast and guests can use the kitchen but more complete service would add value.
Very cosy place with great view. The people running the place are amazing; super friendly and knowledgeable about all in and around ushaia. Great place to meet other travellers.

Really great and cozy guesthouse with an outstanding view over Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel. The hosts Cristian and Marina gave great individual advices to us what are the best options to explore Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego (e.g. National Park, Lago Escondido, Laguna Esmeralda), arranged also a low priced rental car, took a lot of time for their guests, and made us feel truly welcome.

Breakfast was limited and the bathroom unfortunately had an unpleasant smell.
Staff were friendly and the room was a good size and comfortable. Ubers are cheap so being up the hill isn't an issue.

It is far from the city, better if you have rent a car. Breakfast was very very basic.

There is no breakfast as advertised- a loaf of frozen bread! There is a kitchen to cook in but you are not allowed to fry/ cook meat. Bring your own food up to the place because there are no supermarkets close by. Unfortunately at the time of our stay there were noisy guests next door (loud music/ partying who were asked to leave but didn’t do so until 4:30am.
The owners were helpful with organising excursions and tips about the city. While the location is good for views of the city it is only if you have a room facing the front.

The hostel is HOT. We asked for the heating to be turned off, which it was, and was still a sauna. It’s also quite far out of town (30/40 mins and up a very steep hill. It’s fine though for a couple of nights.
Really nice property with excellent service by the staff. The shared kitchen facilities are good enough for a couple of nights. The only issue is that they’re picky on what you cook (i.e. no meat or anything that will give off steam/smoke whilst cooking) as the alarms are very sensitive.

It is too far from the city center and on top of the hill, so if you don't have a car - you'll have to take a taxi or walk 30 mins up the steep hill from the center. The shower was leaking, the bathroom was too small even to turn around. The walls are too thin, so it was quite cold and you could hear everything that was going on outside the house. No breakfast and no infrastructure/shops/cafes around at all.
The staff was friendly, they changed towels every day.

Nothing it was lovely!
This felt like a lovely hotel or B&B vs a hostel! The staff were so helpful and really kind. The guy drove us down to town as we mentioned we wanted a bite to eat. The place was soo warm which was nice after a full day out in the cold! The shower was so hot as well. Our room got cleaned everyday which was another added bonus when coming back and there was also breakfast provided. The location is a little far up the hill but as we like to walk it was only 30 mins or a 5 minute taxi
