Escape cabin bit small for family of 4 (but manageable). In the end it's all about the location and that makes up for it.

A great place to stay to experience the tropical rainforest.

We were concerned about the driving conditions due to reading about the cyclone damage but our concerns weren’t needed. The road was carefully marshalled and well-signed to maintain safety for drivers. We have nothing negative to say about the resort.

Great location for exploring the tropical rainforest as the location is right next to the beach in the forest. Very friendly staff who ex0ained that they had only just re-opened after severe damage from the December cyclone but we had a great stay. Cars are parked at the top of a hill and troll eyes available to take your luggage to your chalet. We were allocated a chalet next to the restaurant and right next to the beach access - perfect! The chalet was ideal for us as a couple, large comfy bed, hot shower, outdoor covered veranda space with small table&chairs and it was useful to have a fridge in the room to store the food & drinks we had brought with us. The chalets was surrounded by the forest trees so we always heard sounds of the animals that live there. It rained heavily during the evening and night so we just used the pool - as you couldn’t get any wetter! When the rain stopped, the tide was right in so it wasn’t possible to walk along the beach but other guests had done this earlier, staying well away from the sea edge as there were warning signs about crocodiles but we knew this would be the case. We had a really tasty evening meal in the restaurant that wasn’t over-priced and the menu offered a good selection of dishes & drinks. Good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cape Trib Beach House and would recommend it highly.

Whilst I recognise that this is a forest/beach location and that the cafe/bar is an outdoor facility, I did feel the staff could have tried harder to regularly clean the floor area and make the tables cleaner. Also the awning, whilst superb was very dirty which made the area darker and rather spoiled the experience for me. I would have expected at the price point we paid, this aspect would have been better.

The remote location is superb. Being on the beach alone at sunrise and sunset was very special. The bedroom accommodation was as described, surrounded by fabulous forest. Basic, comfortable, very clean. Quiet too, we heard no noise from our neighbours. We liked the food in the cafe/bar area. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location was beautiful, right in the Daintree Forest, and on the beach, with nothing for miles. Food was delicious, very high quality being so isolated. The cabins are small, but comfortable, perfect place to relax and get away from everything.

The price was relatively high for a very basic and small bungalow during off-peak season. The pool was also very basic, which matters when you can't swim at the beach. But our biggest qualm was our AC was broken on checkin, which was either known to staff before we checked in, or should have been known. Of course we raised the issue expecting it to be dealt with but the AC was not repaired. We could not be moved bungalows because the other two equivalent bungalows were occupied. That's understandable. But there are other solutions - a modest discount, a few complementary drinks. Anything. But instead, it was not fixed and that was that. I reckon a straw poll would result in almost unanimous agreement that expecting working AC in far north Queensland in November is a given, especially when paying over $330/night for the room. We stayed at many cheaper properties during our holiday and all had perfectly working AC. Again, if it couldn't be fixed during our staff we understand, but offer something else. Absolutely nothing was offered.

Staff were great (aside from AC problem not being dealt with - see below). Location was great, right on the beach. Most exceptional aspect was the food at the restaurant. Absolutely world class. Give the chef a raise! He is a young French guy who was so lovely and friendly and cooked like a Michelin Star chef.

They could have cleaned the chairs and tables on the beach to make them more comfortable to sit and enjoy the beach.

Orange-footed scrubfowl call was too loud in the morning! Just kidding, all was well, thank you!

Situated slightly beyond Cape Tribulation village, this property stands as the final stop before the gravel road. However, with a car, traveling to and from was effortless. Our stay was tranquil, complemented by a delightful dinner at a nearby restaurant. The staff was amicable, and the rooms were pristine.

There was no wifi or mobile connection. (Again this could be good or bad depending on how you look at it.). Digital detox and catch up on sleep. We had a light not working. Reception closes at 4pm and because there is no reception (no way of calling) we had to tell the staff at dinner time in person. (Dinner starts at 6pm). The staff only managed to fix it in the morning the next day. It is fine as we had others light in that room so things will get resolved but be prepared to wait.

It was affordable for the Cape Tribulation area. No kitchen so we weren’t able to cook (that could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. =)). There were tea and coffee making facilities and we were allowed to have cup noodles on the balcony.
