Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The coffee and tea facilities were very basic.
I work in the city and live in the country. If I could afford it, Sunday night through Thursday would be an ideal place for me to stay while I am working.

We had a studio room that was plenty big enough but would’ve liked to be able to see tv from the bed. Nothing major, just a small thing…
The location is perfect, a block from light rail and a block from the access bridge to darling harbour. The add-on breakfast option was definitely well worth it!

Traffic noise was disruptive.
Staff were friendly and accommodating - our room was ready early and we were able to leave our luggage on the final day so we could squeeze in a few more hours exploring. The hot buffet breakfast was excellent with a good range of foods. Room was clean, and had everything we needed.

We loved the location. It was short walk to Darling Harbour, even with a 4 year old. The size of the room was great. Not too cramped. Spacious. Very comfortable for 2 night stay.

The sofa bed was noisy and sloped down towards the head of the bed.
I liked the central location, short walk to darling harbour or Pitt St mall. The room was clean and spacious.

the lack of help when checking regarding the parking. It wasn't working when we arrived and instead of helping us the receptionist said you have to deal with it yourself..she was very unhelpful

Wi-Fi access was crap. Had to ask for the room to be serviced and collect fresh towels from reception. Shower leaks all over the bathroom floor and soaked the bathmat.
Nice room, small but comfortable. Clean and tidy and a great view. All we needed to be happy and the kitchen facilities were more than adequate.

Not much of a view but not really a problem as it was all about the location
Excellent location for Darling Harbour and close to Sydney main shopping centre. Good size room (executive studio) with partitioned bedroom area. Large bed, looked like two King singles pushed together. Buffet breakfast was very good with a reasonable selection available.

Wish there was juice at breakfast for the kids. Extra or fluffier pillows too.
Good sized room and very lovely staff. Coat/bag hooks by the door are a nice touch.

The hot water in the shower took a long while to come through. My wife had a cold shower. The lighting in the bathroom was poor.
Breakfast was really good. There was enough options to suit all the family members. The location was excellent. We were close to everything we wanted to do and the walk back in the rain from Alliance Stadium only took 45 minutes.

The oven was dirty and needs a good clean. Only one double power point in the kitchen, so juggling to have more than two appliances in use.
Good location for our visit to Sydney. Reception staff nice and polite. Nice large bathroom.

The Garden and sitting area was absolutely grubby. Luckily the rooms have washing machines as you would need to wash your clothes after sitting out there. Needs a deep clean and solid pressure wash. I dont think anyone has used or cleaned this space in a very long time.

It was Friday, when the room on top of us creates a loud noise on floor and we could not sleep properly. Was really annoying at our end.
