Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo wifi in the room, just at the main lodge. Worked well there though.
The employees at the farm took the time to tell us about the history of sites and family members of the farm, and were incredibly welcoming. Spent the evening by the fire learning and chatting.

The home cooked dinner is amazing. I love the relaxed homely vibe staying at the farm. The highland cows are super cute too.

IrelandThe connecting door between my room and the next was paper thin so I could hear everything. The $55 dinner was tepid by the time it got to me. The cheese board starter was a lovely touch though. When k was offered a drink to start the evening I (naively) presumed it was included in the price but it was not.
Comfortable and clean, microwave, fridge, and kettle in the room with tea/ coffee making facilities. Electric blanket in the bed!!

The room was a good size, it was clean. The host was fantastic. We loved the dinner and the company. We were allowed to roam the homestead.

AustraliaWhat a wonderful stay. We decided to break up our trip home to Hobart from the east coast and impulsively booked a room at Ratho Farm. The welcome from the staff was exactly right - warm, present and unobtrusive. The room was perfect, relative to the price - very clean and spacious, and a little rough around the edges. Dinner was simple and delicious, and the main house was a cosy place to hang out and relax. We will be back.

AustraliaCan’t think of anything that needed improving. 😀
Enjoyed meeting all the other guests out on the deck for drinks. Thought the honesty tab was great and loved the delicious cheese platter plus the views over the property during sunset were amazing.

AustraliaThe history of the farm and the host's delight in sharing it with guests.
This working farm with a history dating back to the 1820s is a fascinating location! The communal evening meal is great and an excellent way to begin to appreciate the property, It is well-worth experiencing that especially on your first night!

AustraliaWe stayed one night and did not play golf. This was the dearest accommodation during our stay in Tassie but you do get the history and a great feed. If you were a golfer it would be better value.
The host Michael made this experience ! Dinner was fantastic ( and we were late arrivals). The accomodation was clean and comfortable and being on a farm away from traffic noise was a real winner.

Michael (the farms exceptional host) was really fun and pleasant to interact with. Nothing was a problem for him and he made everyone feel welcome and included. Definitely wonderful place to stay even if you don't play golf. Make sure that you book in for dinner as the stories and food are not to be missed.

Ratho Farms was the absolute best!! The location and history of the farm were amazing, and the accommodation was unique and historic. I am so happy we picked this accommodation, I also recommend having dinner there as it was nice to chat with other travellers, and the host Michael was a fantastic and entertaining host on local history of the 200 year main residence of the property.

AustraliaIt was unfortunate that Michael only turned up to the 8am breakfast at 9am, by which point a lot of guests had come and gone & hadn’t been able to enjoy the option of bacon/eggs etc.
Characterful property, comfortable, clean & spacious. Dinner in the property was very tasty & the after dinner readings relating to the history of the property were great.
