Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaTeddy bear is such a fun and easy place to stay. Perfect location for everything around with the bus station next door. Andy ( the owner ) was incredible, and helped us all along the way with getting up Emeishan and around town. If you have any questions, ask him. He has good English. The food is also delicious so teddy bear has all you need. We even got a mascot to take on our travels 🧸

SingaporeNothing. Excellent service from the boss.
Comfortable and very good value. The room is clean and well maintained with all the facilities of a top hotel. Near to the bus station where you can easily get a bus to Letongping. You can also catch a public bus to the giant Buddha. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a budget hotel yet does not want to compromise on standards.

United KingdomIt's difficult to say, as I think the hotel is in the process of being renovated. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, in a good location and very reasonably priced.
The hotel is in an excellent location for Mount Emei, and you can also walk into town easily. There are loads of restaurants and shops in the area. The staff in the hotel are very friendly. The first room I was given was a bit dark, so I asked to change. The room I ended up with was much better. The rooms in the hotel have been renovated, but I think some still need to be redecorated. The WiFi was mostly good. I had some issues with the plumbing in my bathroom. The staff dealt with it promptly, but I think the plumbing generally needs to be checked. The hotel has a washing machine you can use free of charge, which was great.

Great location next to transport links and shops. Unusual well-designed wooden building. Lovely roof terrace to relax, with nice view of Emeishan. Restaurant caters effortlessly for vegetarians (an unusual thing) and food is excellent. Room has aircon/heating and electric blanket. Staff are helpful.

United States of AmericaAndy and his wife were the most wonderful hosts. We would have great conversations with Andy who told us engaging stories about his life and how the hotel came to be. Andy is also an experienced and thoughtful chef who didn't hesitate to make recommendations he would cook personally and make vegetarian food. They were so kind to offer to take us to the high speed rail station and even gave us moon cakes on Mid Autumn Festival day! We really appreciated his advice when it came to Mt. Emei. We also appreciated that his family can speak English, which was a breath of fresh air for us English speakers who can't speak any Mandarin! The room we stayed in was clean and we loved the kitschy teddy bear theme. You could tell in its heyday, it was a lively hostel/hotel for many foreign travelers. It became more like a home for the time we stayed there and we'd absolutely stay there again, as well as recommend them to other travelers.

PolandThe owner of the hotel is a very charming person, he is extremely helpful. He learned English by ear so you can take advantage of his advice. We very much appreciate that he has come to run a business on his own, and despite various difficulties, he is constantly trying to develop. Additionally, the location of the hotel is great. You can walk to the bus station in one minute and buy tickets for different destinations to explore more of the region. Access to Mount Emei is great too.

United States of America1. Very noisy. Although my room faced the little street in front of the hotel and not the bus station, it was still very very noisy. At exactly 6:15 AM neighbor in the building facing the hotel (and my window) engaged in loudest throat clearing, then breakfast, then smoking (which was excessively felt) until around 6:45 when everyone loudly went to work. This happened every morning during my 3 night stay. At night they had a somewhat similar ritual right before shutting down around 11pm. There was also some construction going on that same neighboring property, which probably contributed at how dusty everything was in my room. 2. After check-in, I spent first 1 hr scrubbing surfaces. In general, the hotel did not seem clean. There was hair in the bathroom and walls, open empty toiletry tubes laying around. 3. My wooden room had a small wooden window, which was not screened. So everytime I tried opening it for fresh air or light, an army of mosquitos flew in. With windows closed, the room got very dark and stuffy. There is a/c, but with amount of dust in the room, i didn't want to turn it on. Currently they seemed to have a very nice, but only ONE cleaning lady for entire hotel, there is no way she could do all the necessary cleaning. In general, this hostel has so much potential. If only they hired a decent cleaning crew and fixed things up, it could have been very comfortable, and I wouldn't have minded paying more.
Clean bed and towels (although worn out). When I saw the state of cleanliness of the room and bathroom in general I was happy that the bed is clean and comfortable. Located right next to the bus stop to the Emeishan scenic area. Very sweet lady hostess, friendly and helpful staff. Seemed to be the only non-smoking proprerty that also catered to foreigners. Powerful hot shower. In general, I got what i should expect for such low price.

CanadaWe stayed at the dorm the first 2 nights and moved up to a standard room on the third. The difference is huge but price difference is minimal, in fact, probably cheaper to book the room on line than to walk in.
Very close to the bus station to Mount Emei. The veranda literally looks at the bus station. The hotel has 20 years experience in dealing with western tourists and is equipped with detailed info on the routes and monasteries. It has free luggage storage and laundry service (line dry). The boss is able to communicate in English but never push any tour or car rental ( which is rare in this area) on us. But they could help with purchasing tickets when needed. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which we dined every night. Decent food and decent price.
