Positive section of review
I loved the quaint charm that Villa Rose instilled in you the moment you entered the gate. I felt like I was transported to a time that matched the belle epoque villa. I can only compare it to some places i've visited in New Orleans, biutbaway from the wild Beale street energy. I can't explain it, but i felt something peaceful and familiar from a bygone era. I can't wait to return to Villa Rose!

Uncomplicated check-in, friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast was decent; good selection of food and hot and cold beverages. Public parking right next to the hotel. Public transportation is nearby. For short-term stays, room is not made up every day (which we think makes a lot of sense).

In general, things were not entirely clean, in particular the floor in the bathroom and the closet didn't look good. Bed linen had obviously been washed and was fresh, yet it had older stains. Too few space to stow away clothing. No shelf space in the bathroom at all. We found it rather strange that one has to dispose of the garbage oneself (although this hotel policy is well communicated). Loose carpet in the elevators.

Positive section of review
Nice situated near the train station and near a commercial center. Very close to every touristic point you would want to visit. The bed was very comfortable and wide enough. Curtains provided enough darkness to sleep well. Staff was very helpful regarding our issue with the first room.

There was a problem with a leaking toilet (the staff then provided us with another room). There was then a second problem with the shower head and the hose connecting to it. We only found out in the morning when we took our shower.

Rue Cadet is a charming street with plenty of cafés & shops. The apartment is within easy walking distance to the Opéra Garnier and to the Galleries Lafayette. The apartment was impeccably clean. They were very accommodating with the changes to our arrival time.

Please note: There is no elevator in the building. Our apartment was on the 2nd floor; fortunately, that was not a problem for us, but anyone with mobility issues might have difficulty reaching the 2nd floor without an elevator (especially with suitcases).

The bed was very comfortable and suitable for a nice rest. Bathroom is nice as well and it was a very quiet floor. We were overall quite pleased with the room. Decoration was nicely thought-out.

There was an issue with the WiFi. We were given a small box but despite multiple attempts to make it work, it just never did. At that time, we were too tired to sort it out.

Confortable bed. Large room. Easily reached from the main road. The young person at the front desk was very helpful and responsive to requests for assistance.

The hotel was being renovated. Our first room smelled heavily of sewage. The second room was reached through a small construction zone. Local fútbol championship trumped speedy restaurant service. I still think it funny, sort of.
