What an amazing piece of history! The B&B used to be the host, Igor’s grandfather’s, is rich in layers of family stories. From the antiques on the floor, to the art on the walls, and the lovely vintage lighting hanging from the 20 metre ceilings, it is a wonderful place to be steeped in old Sicily. Igor is a lovely, warm and attentive host, great to communicate with, and so thoughtful. He had Sicilian pastries, drinks and espresso waiting for us upon arrival, and gifted us with a mini travel kit as a departing gift. A highlight of our stay was entering through the magnificent storey-high iron doors that led to the original lift. It felt like we were in a movie!

It wasn’t an issue for us, but might be useful to know for others that our room didn’t have a self-contained bathroom. Access was through the kitchen.

The apt was perfect. 2 bedrooms one bath TV internet kitchen. We didn’t use it to its potential as we were only there 2 nights. My daughter’s study abroad dorm was maybe 60-70 ft away. Close to many of the big sites and restaurants everywhere. We received the entry door code as well as the key lockbox code as explained. The entry foyer to the building was like an old castle. It has a small elevator but our unit was on first floor so we mostly walked up. Plenty of interior seating and kitchen was well stocked with utensils and glassware plates etc.

There is nothing I didn’t like but my only suggestion might be to try and get a usb electric outlet as the world is overtly mobile anymore and I gave my adapter to my daughter.

I travel much with my wife , and this is the best place I have ever been in , nice owner good communication and easy going anything you want you will find in this apartment it’s complete from a to z , if you cock all available tea and coffe with mane variety options , sauna great , thank you so much

The breakfast was nice, the pastries were delicious. We got a free room upgrade when we arrived, which was a kind unexpected treat. The hotel staff is amazing and provided good recommendations of places and restaurants to visit.

We went there over the 01-May public holiday, and finding a parking spot was tricky. We always managed but it was not hassle-free. Be mindful of that if going by car especially in peak periods.

Modern , clean , enough beds for all of us ( family of 2 couples and 2 small children …wish more instructions to appliances were in English. Could use another comfortable living room chair .

Location was kind of far off from where I thought it would be. Graffiti covered area . For tourists I did not feel it was safe at first but it was fine .

The Hotel Bonsai is in the midst of restaurants and within walking distance to the beach. The rooms were clean with very adequate amenities.

In room 210, the bed near the window/door was terrible; like some elephants were playing on it. The bed's springs were broken (I think) creating the worst night's sleep I had in my life. But, the management assures me that the bed problem will be addressed and fixed. Also, parking is a mess and no loading zone for check-in.
