Positive section of review
Super clean, super friendly staff, bustle free and really quiet. Free breakfast in the morning, free drinks in the evening. It's in a prime spot in an alley with many food options and only a 3 minute walk to the train station. If you travel light and are there for an extended time, the hotel offers free laundry service with the exception of undergarments. Or if you wish, there is a nice modern laundromat a walkable distance away. I will definitely be staying here the next time I visit Tokyo.

It was a non-issue for me, but they require you to turn in your hotel room key (it's an actual key, not a keycard) when you go out.

The location is great, very close to Tokyo station. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Good onsen and breakfast. The room was spacious, and the bed was huge. Pillows menu. Free drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, at evenings served free of charge.

The room itself is a bit dated. The floor in the breakfast area is sticky most of the time, especially in the beverages machine area. No fogless mirror in the bathroom.

The Smile Hotel is in a great location. Very close to a train station and many restaurants.

The rooms we received were in need of repair. The deluxe room had water stains on the walls where the beds were, and mold in the bathroom. The beds in the deluxe room were like “sleeping on top of a table” hard.

I booked one bedroom apartment, but in fact it was a studio apartment. There was a door but it couldn't be closed. We had to rotate the bed to close it. I felt cheated. The sofa was so uncomfortable that you couldn't sleep on it (you could feel all the springs).
