Staying here was the perfect way to finish my 3 week trip in Japan. Usami is a quiet town on the beach and great for relaxing. This property is in a great location in Usami, just a few minutes walk from the train station and the beach. From here it’s also easy to day trip to other areas in Izu. I did an awesome day trip to Jogasaki Coast! The facilities were spacious and clean, and the hot spring, foot bath, and balcony were great additions to the property. Lastly the property owners were incredibly friendly and hospitable. They helped make my time in Usami memorable. If I come back to Izu I’ll definitely look to stay here again.

Usami might not be for everyone. It’s a small, local town. If you are looking for excitement you might want to check bigger towns.

We absolutely loved this stay! We had a surprise arrival because our plans got rearranged but they were available at the drop of a hat for check in. We were greeted with tea and snacks. The beds were comfy, there was laundry available on site and we enjoyed being walking distance to some lovely places and transportation. The best part, though, was breakfast. She made an amazing vegetarian set both mornings and I've already tried to replicate them at home because they were just that good. If I'm ever in the area again, this is where I want to stay. :)

Record player in the room with funky new music to listen to. Guitar in the room - first time ever in my long history of travels :) Location is prime - walking distance to all of the Kyotos central places as well as a metro station 1min from the hotel. Egg benedict for breakfast was best ove had in years.

Very loud as we entered the hotel. Tried the coffee in the cafe once, americano just wasn't good at all, nor was the coffee during our breakfast. Maybe a bit too hippy of a place for me; vegan; bio, recyclable, etc, but coming to Japan's heritage, the oldest city I kinda wished I stayed in a place that had a connection to the history instead of a modern hotel which we got a lot of in europe - vibe close to the W hotels for people who had been.

The room was very nice. We always enjoy the traditional Japanese style. Our host also gave an amazing recommendation for a bakery just down the street. Seriously, it's the best with a little book store attached. The walk to the train station was pretty quick and simple.

This place was very comfy. We stayed 1 night and enjoyed the tatami room, sitting area, and traditional futon beds. There is a massage chair and microwave available for use in the common room.

The shower room was a bit small.

We enjoyed the room and breakfast. The room was traditional and very comfortable. We chose the Japanese option for breakfast and enjoyed it as well.

We reserved time in the bath but we were a few minutes late. They had already given away our spot, even though we paid for the time frame. That was disappointing.

We enjoyed the laundry in our room and comfortable beds. It was nice to come back to an almost full apartment at the end of the day.

The rooms were very humid, so air drying our laundry was out of the question.

Sold a DOUBLE room but the bed was against the wall which meant climbing over. I thought if you couldn't walk round the bed it could only be sold as an executive single.
