We wanted a break from hard travel and are so glad we chose Fredriksborg. The rooms are very simple with a terrific outlook. The location is remarkable, on a hill above the deep water channel going in and out of Stockholm. The first time we saw a huge ship gliding by above eye level was a happy surprise. The dinner served at their restaurant was superb. But the best of all is the staff. They take great pride in the history of the location and its role in the defense of Stockholm in centuries past. Pontus (spelling ?) went out of his way to show us the property as well as to drive us to the ferry for the return to Stockholm. We were very appreciative.

It’s not easy to get there without a car. The bus from Stockholm is not frequent but we enjoyed the drive once we exited Stockholm. A very pleasant 1 km walk from the bus stop was necessary but certainly worth it. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer.

Very clean, everything was like new. In fact the oven and coffee maker seemed to be first used by us. Room was real cosy with almost every detail for comfort was thought of. It is somewhat far from city center and therefore budgety, but it was too easy to access the bus stop (right across the building) and metro station (5 minutes walk through lilac filled streets).

The necessity to use a phone app to open every door in the building was sometimes not handy. I think you can also request a key card instead but we weren't informed about it until the last day. The curtains were good to block morning sun but they could not be shut tight, so you may wake up real early with sun in your eye.

The staff was so friendly, helped us with a little issue of our converters not working properly-and a ton of recommendations for things to do. We loved the variety of food and coffee, and the proximity to locations

It's not anyone's fault, but the room temperature not being controlled was very tricky to get comfortable. They brought us a fan which was slightly helpful, but it was still sadly way too warm. I could only be grateful it wasn't too hot outside during our stay in May vs later in the Summer.

Amazing breakfast, comfortable beds, very close across the street from the train station. Very convenient. Front desk staff were helpful. The mall next door is convenient.

It's a bit too much of a student appartment or hostel feeling for my taste. Going to a different building for breakfast under open sky is nice in good weather but not in heavy rain and wind.
