Very nice hostel with friendly staff and super convenient shuttle from/to the airport ! Would recommend

There were a few things that were not up to par. First, there is no soap in the bathrooms for washing hands. Second, they have air conditioners, but told me that they came on automatically at 6. They do not. You have to go ask for the control at the desk. Third, the beds are decent, but the ladders on the bunks are only hooked on, so they clang a lot, which is awkward in the middle of the night in a room full of sleeping people. There is NO KITCHEN in this hostel. There is a single tiny microwave in the lobby. The restaurant was also apparently closed, but you weren't supposed to bring in outside food or drink. Also, the shuttle does not run all day and several people were told there was only one shuttle per day. I had mine at 11:30 and noted other people marked down for it, but we left 15 minutes early and no one else was on it, so I'm not sure if they were just missed, or what. I had made a reservation and requested a bottom bunk, even received notification of this. However, they didn't have that when I checked in and I was given a top bunk for the first night.

The hostel is pretty nice, obviously has recent renovations. It's in a central area, so that's quite handy, there are plenty of shops and parks nearby, as well as a myriad of restaurants. And, of course, it's near the airport. The mattress was comfortable, as well.

Alajuela itself is not the best place to visit in Costa Rica. The building is dark and has no insulation.

Convenient to get to the airport. Cheap. Private room has all the necessary to rest before flying home.

We had some doubts about cleanliness (found some hair and stains on the sheets, they changed our room but the new room also had some hair on the bed). There are some birds outside so it's loud in the morning. The walls are thin so you can hear everyone coming and going, which happens a lot, since most people stay here before or after their flight. For us, the convenience and price outweighted these shortcomings.

This place is great for an overnight stay after or before your flight. It is only a few minutes away from the airport (by car) and the shuttle service is extremely convenient. Note that they have a fixed schedule for returning to the airport. There are several restaurants and shops near the hostel. Accommodation is also a good value for money. A/C works well. They accept credit cards.

The hotel is not a well-kept place but very functional for the departure/arriving from and to the airport of San Jose.

The hotel offers the airport shuttle and the room was quite big and comfortable. The shuttle to the airport is already included in the price of the room.

Dark room with no light but better this than street noise.

Very quiet room with good air con. Lovely roof bar and another outside area over where you can take a beer and watch the world. In the middle of everything overlooking the park.

No frills at all. Could have used another blanket. Only a sheet provided. Towels were clean, but very dingy. Whole place was run down and dead feeling, but cheap enough to make it still worth it.

The hostel met expectations for the value. It was clean enough, safe enough, and roomy enough. Definitely bare bones, but for the price, I cannot complain. Easy check-in.

It wasn’t very clean and I did not feel safe sleeping in the top bunk bed without any border. Also the A/C in our room didn’t work and the staff were not helpful about it

A few people talking loudly and a child still up at 2 in the morning but most people in bed reasonably early.

Very comfortable bed. Good sized room overlooking the park so saw lots of birds from the room and the balcony. Good Aircon when needed. Didn't eat there as jet lagged but appreciated the onsite bar. Good location for walk and breakfast in the morning. A bit of noise but that's to be expected in the city and it wasn't as bad as we'd expected. Excellent value for money.
