Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsAmazing place. An oasis! It was amazing to sleep in the jungle with just the nets and the wood to separate you. All natural materials. Bathroom was open to the sky. Good and friendly staff, great food. Such a great experience.

Good quality cabins located in the forest, just a short walk to the main reception and restaurant. All the buildings were attractive, modern, and airy, with the restaurant providing lovely meals. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Tours could be arranged through the hotel.

United KingdomThe only bad thing I can think of is that our night tour only lasted 1 hour even though it was advertised as 1.5 hours. The photos on booking definitely don't do this place justice, they need an update.
This is the best place we stayed at in the whole of CR. For starters the staff are so friendly and welcoming you feel at home right away. We stayed in the cave thing which was a super awesome and unique experience. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was amazing as it was sort of semi outside with an amazing shower. The on-site restaurant is actually very good! The breakfast is very good, it's the first time I had fried turrialba cheese and it was fantastic. Lunch and dinner was also absolutely fantastic and so reasonably priced. We did a night tour with the guide and he was great at finding different animals. What we loved most though was the hiking trails and bird watching towers! Every morning and evening we would walk to the bird watching towers for a few hours and we saw so many different birds and even some poison dart frogs! Hawks, Eagles, Toucans, Parakeets, King Vultures and so many more. Also Maya the dog is so adorable, she accompanied us on a few hikes and she's a great companion. Would recommend this place to absolutely everyone, especially bird enthusiasts!

United KingdomOnly one small thing. The restaurant only offers a 3 course fixed price at lunch and a 3 course fixed price at dinner. The food is great but sometimes you just want something smaller and more of a snack. That's not possible. It's all or nothing.
l loved everything about Danta Corcovado Lodge. It is much more beautiful and very much more comfortable than I was expecting from the photos. The bungalow / cabin we had was amazing. It had a fridge which I wasn't expecting. The food was delicious and the eating/ bar area is stunning. We loved walking all the trails through the reserve (which we almost always had to ourselves) and observing the wildlife. Its not too buggy either, even in the open restaurant after dark. It was a wonderful stay and great fun. The staff are fantastic too. We enjoyed the tours with Juan Luis. We managed just fine here without a car. Thanks to everyone for such a great experience.

The property is adjacent to the National Park corcovado. On the property is a canopy tower that allows for great bird observation. Easy to access. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. With a daily cleaning service.

United Kingdomcould of had a little mention of Christmas
amazing ,so authentic just a basic comfortable (very comfortable beds) cabin each isolated from the next completely quiet ,except for birds amd monkeys. Food and service was fantastic , good choice ,best tuna I’ve ever eaten , we did 2 tours with the same guide who was the best guide we had all holiday really seemed to care about everything he showed us and found all kind of things that we would never had seen, I’ll trip into Corcovado national park he drove us deep in (through 20 rivers ) didn’t see a single other person or car apart from a ranger ,ended in a waterfall where we were able to swim just us . .

United KingdomOnly small downside was that we felt that any extras are slightly overpriced, e.g. dinner is $24 dollars which is quite pricey even for a this 3-course menu. Also, it’s a pity that the dinner options are not traditional comidas but rather an unsuccessful attempt to mimic European/American food. Other than this, everything is really perfect and we recommend this accommodation.
Lovely staff and the little cabins are simply great. You don’t get much closer to staying in the middle of the jungle than this. Comfortable beds, staff brings your luggage to the room with a quad, everything was perfect. When asking where to buy a coco (pipa) frio (fria) they just called someone from the guards to climb up a tree and get us a super fresh one.

United States of Americawould have liked more of a self service option with food and drinks. the staff was incredibly hospitable and wouldn’t let us lift a finger (which is exceptional service) BUT we felt uncomfortable with being pampered like that and would have liked the option to just cook our own food and make our own breakfast once or twice
incredible property in the heart of a special jungle. staff are so hospitable and they have activities right on location with lots of hiking trails.

NetherlandsDanta has improved their diner experience by changing from a communal style diner with a fixed menu to a private, a la carte diner (for a fixed price). Also, maintenance of the trails had greatly improved since our last stay (8 years ago). All other features of Danta have always been perfect (bungalow, location, quality of the guides, wildlife), so this now makes it one of our favorite places to stay in Costa Rica!

There are some very good hiking trails on the property with the opportunity to see wildlife (monkeys, birds etc.) and some beautiful trees. The bungalow was also very nice. If you dont have a car you can take the bus to La Palma and then walk about an hour (flat road) to the lodge.
