Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was very engaging. The location is quite convenient for visiting the cathedral and the museums, and for getting to the train station.

GermanyWe had breakfast at the hotel for one morning. At a price of 22 euros per person, the breakfast was not worth it. Very simple, not many options, and few items were labeled. Another thing that bothered us a bit was the fact that we had to take two elevators to get to our room: the first from the reception to the underground floor, and the second from the underground floor to our floor. This consumed a lot of time.
We upgraded our normal room to the Grand Deluxe Double Room for only 30 euros extra, and it was the best decision I've made. The room was SPECTACULAR, probably the best hotel room I have ever been to. The bed was big, they provided bathrobes and sandals, room was well decorated and had a view to the St. Ursula Church tower. The toilet separated from the shower and from the sink was a big plus.

United KingdomThe hotel was easy to find and not far to walk from the main station. The toilet light was very noisy. The lift doors often failed to work first time. Directions to our room were complicated and not altogether well signposted.
Facilities excellent. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of foods. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed and a lovely shower.

ItalyThere was not a proper isolation of light on the windows and my husband couldn’t sleep well as with the sun rise the room was becoming super lighted.
The breakfast was very complete and good! The room was very clean and quiet. We also liked the location as we were 8 minute walk away from the cathedral.

United KingdomBreakfast was not to my liking but was pre warned by other reviews. No English breakfast tea , so only able to have few items as not fan of continental. Better than nothing Hotel is other 2 sites with a joining lift and tunnel , so bit of a hike to room .
Very clean , lovely mix of tradition and modern, very central ( 5 mins walk to station and cathedral). Could even see top of cathedral from room window Exceeded expectations, probably nearer a 4 star than stated 3.

NetherlandsEven though the location is good 50 meters away (the other side of the railway) was not a good street. There were many homeless and drunk people around who were not friendly people. Of course, it's not something relevant to the hotel but it is around the corner. We used to have a bottle of water or kettle in the 3-star hotels unless this one.
The hotel is in a good location, we just walked 5 minutes from the station. The crew was helpful with our backpacks for the last day and the herbal teas from the restaurant as a gift. The room was quite nice.

AustraliaIf I have to choose something, it would be the lack of tea and coffee and kettle in the room. Though, on request at reception, the staff were more than happy to lend me a kettle free of charge. But I have noticed that it's fairly standard for many German hotels not to have tea/coffee facilities, so this didn't feel out of the ordinary.
It was in a convenient location. While it is approximately 7 mins by foot to the Kölner Dom and Hauptbahnhof, it was great to be in a part of the city that, while still close to everything, was just outside the busy and noisy tourist area. It was actually close also to a street called Eigelstein and surrounding streets where I found some great eateries offering döner etc (and places great for some late night tasty snacks) but also some nice German pubs. Because it was down a side street, it was beautifully quiet at night. The bed room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly and checkout at 12 midday on the day of departure was quite a luxury! I saw some reviews referring to the 'rabbit warrens' that are the corridors of the hotel. While they did have a few more twists and turns than I'm used to in hotels, they weren't as bad as described and I thought that's what gave the hotel its charm. It was very quaint.

ChinaThere is only 1 staff in the reception at time when we arrive. He is doing the check-in check-out and working in the bar and also need to show the way to many guests(since some rooms are in a seperate building). So the response time could be a bit long. But after all, the staff is very kind, energtic and helpful!
Good location, just 10 minutes walk from the central station.

FranceThere is not always a clerk at front desk after 18h00, I waited for quite a while, called several times until there was finally someone came to check in for me. I asked via booking if I can let my bag there after I check out, the hotel clerk responded me that 'there is no free parking, I have to pay x euros if I want to park my car' I doubt if they understood my question well.... Last point, the soundproof system isn't very well, I can hear other guests talking on the phone.
it is very close to Koln train station, 12mins by walking. It is clean and room équipements are complete.

GermanyAs a single traveller, I had a small room but it had a very comfortable bed and the decorations were very pleasant. There was manual and electronical control of the heating system, the water pressure was perfect, the bath had Rituals products which was really nice. It's 7 min walk to the train station and Dom but on a quiet side street.
