Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaOur room included small double bed with a single bunk on top. The single bunk was hot up there. The window just had to be opened. Our room was right on the thoroughfare where people could potentially per into our room. Right through the night you could hear people talking as they passed. The periodical motor bike passes and you'd swear they drove through your room. We were there on a Saturday night. The party goers didn't shut up until 5:30am. If you're going there for peace and quiet - go elsewhere (unless you can sleep through an earthquake).
The location was ideal / great. Bathroom had heaps of room and the shower was strong and hot. Washing machines available and a courtyard to hang clothes out to dry. Kitchen was well equipped so that basic meals could be prepared. Included a microwave, stove top, utensils.

UkraineUnfortunately, my room was on the first floor next to the entrance door and reception. The door doesn’t have automatic closer so everyone who enters or leaves hostel just slams the door very loudly as it’s heavy enough! It happened all the night of my stay because it was a festive weekend and the hostel was fully booked. I could only sleep for 3 hours in total 😢 And it became really noisy on reception from 8 am as new people arrived. So if you want to sleep well I’d not recommend you to stay on the first floor of the hostel!
Good location (it’s a historical centre but the street itself is quiet). Even if there is no staff inside because of siesta time you still can enter and grab your room keys (but you need to call them in order to know the entrance door code). There are bathrooms on the floor, each is dedicated for 2 bedrooms (better than I expected 😃). It’s clean and tidy as well as bedroom. Bed is also comfortable and there are warm plaids in the wardrobe.

United KingdomRoom was hot when the windows were closed in order to keep out the street noise (Friday night). Also the filter coffee was cold in the morning. If I understood correctly this should have been free coffee at breakfast time. (No English spoken at reception)
Nice clean room, very good shower shared with neighbouring room

DenmarkThe walls were very thin and people were out until late the Saturday I stayed there. Also a lot of noise from the bar across the street. The bunk bed was not very comfortable and overall not much value for money.
Nice place to stay for the camino

United KingdomThe albergue room was full, and I had hoped during times of COVID that there might be some spacing out of pilgrims. I have encountered this in other albergues and appreciate it. Although I acknowledge the cost implications for the owner. There were 6 pilgrims in a six bed room. Finally, a small note, I emailed the owner with a point after check out, which I felt was relevant, but got no reply.
This is a well kept albergue. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. The owner spoke English to us, which was helpful. Thank you. The albergue is in a great location, very close to the cathedral. On check in, you are provided with a bag to place your backpack in. This is a very positive move for an albergue, and highly commended. It helps keep the accommodation free to any unwanted items that may come from someone's pack. Well done on that.
