Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe kitchen area was somewhat of a quagmire, and I was not real comfortable with the loan washcloth being used to clean all the plates and cutlery. Not very sanitary.
Very nostalgic and lots of history in those walls

CanadaShout-off showers' light-timer was definitely too short. A bit off a historical downtown.
It's a pilgrims' hostel, mostly dormitory rooms, but spacious and clean. No bunk beds. Modern bathroom and showers facilities. Nice view.

United States of AmericaHaving to walk to far to the bathrooms and my room was cold.
The staff is exceptional. Especially the staff that runs the cafeteria in the basement. Those ladies work very hard and are super nice. I would recommend anyone to stay there.

United KingdomWe were bitten by insects there, which we hope were not bedbugs!
Our double room was clean and had an en suite bathroom, which was a lot nicer than the communal showers in the building. Good cafeteria as well, and the staff were helpful.

IrelandWe has single rooms. While the rooms were perfectly comfortable it was noisy - as most old buildings are- Some of my friends found sleeping difficult with osverhead noise. Not for you if you need quiet to sleep. Me , I have a hearing deficit so I heard nothing🙃🙃 and loved the place 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ambiance was great and sense of history

PortugalWith too many pilgrims (maybe hundreds) the toilets tend to become dirtier faster than in other places. It would be good to have them cleaned maybe twice a day.
Simple and clean room and nice facilities (kitchen, laundry, market). I stayed in a private room and it was confortable enough for resting one night, after a long camino journey. The price difference from the bunk beds is just 4€, it's worth it in my opinion.

United States of America1. Install something on the room doors so it doesn’t slam when people open or close it making a huge noise. Or put a sign on each door to remind people to open and close gently and quietly. 2. Install hooks in the shower room so people can place their clothes and towel. Otherwise we had a great experience.
1. I love the view of city from our window. Seeing the cathedral and sunset over the city was amazing. 2. Staff was so helpful and friendly. 3. Facilities were great to use. 4. Location is awesome. It’s part of the city but not exactly in the city. 5. Walking to and from the albergue was a soothing routine.

LatviaThere is shared fridge in the kitchen where is possible to keep personal food, unfortunately in the morning we discovered some of our food was gone (tagged with name and room number). So it is better to keep the food in the room.
Good location, clean. Shared bathrooms were ok. Very kind and supportive staff. Big dinning room and self service kitchen pretty well equipped. There is even shop inside, opened only in particular hours, but still a pleasant supprise.

SloveniaThe room was simple, but had everything I needed after finishing my Camino, even small sink. It was clean and so were the toilets. There was a machine with coffee and drinks on the floor, and a small supermarket in the basement. The location was just right away from the city center and just close enough. The view of the city center is really nice.

SpainThis is the third time we stayed at Santiago Menos, it is a great Albergue for when you reach Santiago after a pilgrimage of more than 800km.. We love the building and views from there. It has good facilities for all the guests staying. The dorms are not bunk beds and are very comfortable. Good showers and great common areas, they have laundry, kitchen and a little cafe/store downstairs that is very handy. Will definitely stay there again!

CanadaNeat way of ending the Camino by staying in an old rustic building like this. Very clean and tidy. I would recommend either eating prior to check in or having all your supplies with you as it can be a bit of a hilly hike back into town after what was potentially a very long walk to finish the Camino.
