Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNot really problems for me but: No real seating area, just a table with a chair and another chair by the bed. Cooking facilities were a microwave and a couple of hobs. The fridge did seem to make a noise at times. The shower didn't stay hot for very long - you need to be quite quick if washing hair. Bathroom was a tiny bit shabby and the step up with same colour tiles is a bit of a trip hazard. I used a towel as a mat outside the door so this wouldn't happen. I quite like a drawer to put things in. Not sure about the little candles on the bedside tables. Not really necessary and potentially a fire hazard? Loo rolls were in a wardrobe, where you might not think to look. You had to be quite firm with the plugs and sockets. I heard some banging about, seemingly from upstairs. Not much and not too late or early. If you want to get the bus to San Sebastián it's at 08.00 or lunchtime. Probably my fault but I had some trouble unlocking the door. Alex had to send someone to my rescue at one point. I didn't see a toaster. I didn't find coasters. I left a few teabags, "milk" and biscuits for the next person, as I think those are nice to have on arrival. There were a few bits there when I arrived - coffee, salt and sugar, I think - but they're not the things I crave. 😀 Anyone with mobility issues should be aware that the flat is accessed by a flight of steps or a steep slope.
Owner was very helpful and sent clear instructions for getting in, as well as offering travel tips. Ocean view was great. Roof terrace was lovely, with various seating options and tables. Bed was comfy (2 single mattresses pushed together) with good duvet. Nice restaurant about a minute away and SPAR maybe 10 or 12 mins. Place was clean and in pretty good nick. Couple of homely touches (mirror, pictures). There was a kettle, an iron and mini ironing board, coffee machine, quite large telly and hairdryer. Kitchen had plenty of utensils. There is a full size fridge with freezer. Shower was pretty good. Plenty of towels. Generally very quiet and peaceful. Cleaning staff seemed nice. Foldout dining table and foldaway chairs, which was quite clever. Plenty of wardrobe space.

SpainThe beach near is a rocky one, we could not swim in it. But not a problem if you have a car, can go to many other beaches in the surrounding.
Loved the quiet location, away from tourism. Great view to the sea. Good size beds.

Estonia- A very small boiler for hot water. It is an challenge to take a shower to have enough water for 2 people. - There are some very simple things missing in the kitchen: a dishwashing sponge, a flat spatula for a pan. - Tight corridor and kitchen. The area of the apartment is less than stated (35m²). In fact, it's about 20-25 m². - Starting at 8 a.m., there are sounds of vehicles passing right under the window: --- At one day someone parked their car incorrectly, in a narrow stretch of road, on the yellow line. Because of this, the garbage truck cannot pass, and to draw attention to the problem, constantly beeping and accelerating the engine. As a result, the garbage men picked up the car by hand and carried it out of the way. All this went on for about half an hour. --- Another day, a truck from a nearby banana farm got into a similar story. Lots of noise and exhaust fumes. --- Perhaps they should put up more obvious signs prohibiting parking in a narrow stretch of road.
+ Good location in quiet place (at night). It's nice to sleep with the window open and hear the sound of the waves. + Quick responses from the owner. + Nice view on ocean and Tenerife \ Teide. + Clean room, comfortable bed. The bed consists of two single beds, and are not fixed to each other, so it is very easy to move apart from each other. + Good value for money, considering the fact that the apartment has a kitchen. + WiFi works, it's stable. But the speed is not very high, about 10Mbps Download and Upload. + You can park nearby. Be sure to avoid the yellow line (read below).

AustriaDespite the sea and the view, the location is not great. The apartment is at the very bottom of the valley, quite far from the village's centre and transportation links. There is one restaurant next door, but the rest of the village life is quite remote, so are the shops. The ocean at the nearby beach is rough and it was impossible to swim there.
This is a nicely designed and clean apartment with a great common terrace on the roof with the view of the sea and Tenerife. It has all necessary appliances.

United KingdomIt felt cramped and awkward - the area is actually about a third less than stated in the listing. OK if you only plan to sleep there. Communal roof terrace could do with a facelift.
Climbing into a comfy bed to the sound of the sea. Little other noise. Clean. Attentive host. Reasonable restaurant a minute away.

SpainIt is a shame that this lovely village keeps the local beach in such a state of abandonement. Visiting Playa Santa Catalina was disappointing. The area is amazing, but the beach isn't really taken care of. A massive and ugly structure built by the local goverment in the middle of the beach ruins the area. The building has been neglected and the beach is dirty and full of debris. In the apartment, wi-fi did not work at all. Refurbishment and renovation is also needed, as the forniture is old and clunky (kitchen and bathroom above all). Cooker stove also pretty bad, 15 minutes to make a coffee.
Beautiful panoramic sea view from the room. Hermigua is charming and quiet small village located in beautiful valley, surrounded by banana fields. The apartment is close to various hiking routes, nice bars, supermarket and bus stops.
