Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdomi paid quite a lot but I booked late and it was a very busy time. The rooms are starting to look a little tired and could do with a refurb soon - but nothing major. Lower pool was a bit cold but upper pool was perfect temperature and better relaxed music. The children sing song hour could have been done in a way that was less intrusive on guests without children trying to dine and relax around the outdoor dining area and pool bar area.
Very nice food (half board), friendly staff, very comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. Upper pool was a nice place to hang out with good relaxed music

United KingdomIs a very 'touristy' resort, which made working remotely a little distracting for me.
Location in the heart of Maspalomas meant it was an easy walk down to the beach, and surrounded by plenty of restaurant options. The gym being open 24hrs was perfect for me.

United KingdomAs above
Breakfast was plentiful and lovely quality but felt more like a school dining hall and so wouldn’t have liked to have been all inclusive there. We only stayed one night as were moving to Barcelo Margaritas Royal level ( next door) for the next 3 nights. Cost very similar but no kids!

United KingdomThe area for the evening entertainment (Manhattan Bar) could have been a bit better as it seemed a bit dated. Some investment in this space is needed. The cocktails could have been presented a bit better - when we ordered cocktails they were always served in a stanard pint glass. Not a typical cocktail glass. We were all inclusive so not sure if this was perhaps the reason why.
The kids club was fantastic and Dani who worked in the kids club was brilliant with our young son. Also, the small arcade at the hotel was really enjoyable for our son. We really liked the indoor gym & outdoor gym. We also liked the variety of food & drinks on offer at the hotel.

FinlandThe walls were quite thin so you can hear the people next door and in the hallway. Also the other elevator was not working so had to wait a long time. Also the stairs were off limits at one point so we had to use the elevator.
The hotel was over booked, but they moved us to the royal level side, which was really nice of the staff. Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. We even got to check in early since we were both sick which so extra points on that.

ItalyWhat I don't understand is how a 4-star hotel doesn't have a bar open for breakfast (if you wanted a decaffeinated coffee, or a lactose-free cappuccino, you can't have one) this forces me not to be able to choose what to drink. I believe that in 2024 facilities of this level can't afford not to have every option. Take this as a note of growth and not a complaint.
The hotel is comfortable, modern and well maintained! The Rooms are big and sleep well. Shuttle service to the beach very useful! Nice and kind animation.

GermanyWell, the only reason I choose Barcelo in Maspalomas is because I have been in Barceló in Valencia, which is much better than Barcelo in Maspalomas, so i expected the same. But in Barcelo Maspalomas it's not Adults only, so you find lot of screaming kids around with families, and also mostly old (german) couples, so it looks like pension for retired people who do exercises in the pool, lead by 2 trainers 1-2 times per day, which makes the place even more to look like rehabilitation center, where people eat and drink all day, since most of the guests are on All Inclusive deal, so it's all about eating. Well, the food was good, with not so big variety, but let's say decent (the waffles were very good!). The so called fitness studio is small 5x5 m outdoor room without air-conditioning and some basics all - in - one exercise equipment, so forget about it. The pool/beach towel you can change it only once in your whole time staying period; if you wish more than that, you have to pay fee. Fee you need also to pay for the safe in your room (?! ). The Wi-Fi was so-so... Most of the time not a strong signal or only in certain areas of the hotel. You could hear the cleaning lady in the morning, moving loud the furniture in the rooms around while cleaning, also listening loud music on her cellphone around her neck, so long sleeping without noise was not really possible until i talk with her and she was more quiet after that. The water in the toilet runs under pretty low pressure, which makes you really nervous, especially if you are in a rush and need quick shower. Overall, pretty expensive for what you get..
The buffet, the location..

United KingdomHotel looked dull specially the areas where the evening entertainment happens. Zero effort is made to make the place warm and cheerful While food is very good, the buffet is almost the same every day. An effort could be done. The beds in the room are single beds with rolling legs so they move super easily even while turning in bed from side to side. A bit surprising there are no rooms for couples with proper double beds. Keep this in mind as this is really annoying The roof top terrace is tiny and badly kept 20 euros deposit per beach towel! The deposit amount cannot be more expensive than the value of the towel! The swimming pool is trapped between high buildings which means sun is scarce..
Location is ok but not too close to beach The hotel is generally clean Food was very good Room spacious but single beds! Gym ok

United KingdomWhilst the buffet was great for breakfast and lunch the evening buffet wasn't quite so good, and was always the same sorts of things breakfast lunch and dinner, so 3 times a day was a bit much! However we did have some lovely meals and a couple of evenings just went out for dinner which was actually nice.
Great location easy walking distance to Playa Ingles, easy to get to by bus from GC airport. Friendly staff and very clean. Great buffet breakfast and lunch. Facilities were super
