Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The view from the balcony was fantastic, and the size of the room was great. Breakfast was wonderful, with dramatic scenery for all seating. The pool also had the views, and was a lovely temperature.

Breakfast on terrace very good but busy. Half board dinner satisfactory but food was not as hot as we would have expected. Good choice of mains and desserts. Swimming pool was excellent. Hotel location and sea view very good. Quiet and peaceful.

Didn't like the single beds. Hotel is a bit of a wind tunnel. Loved our end room with view up valley but wind very noisy. Bathroom are a bit old but everything works.
Fantastic location with stunning view over the sea. Good breakfast on 3rd floor where you could eat out on the balcony or inside but with big glass windows to see the view. Sunset on 3rd floor balcony not to be missed. Staff helpful and I would happily go back.

A lovely hotel with wonderful sea views. We loved the fresh orange juice for breakfast and drinking our coffee on the terrace. Our room had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. A special thank you to Adela, with her wonderful smile and efficiency.

Very nice hotel. Great clean rooms with balcony. The pool and terrace are fab. Very good breakfast, such a good selection and there is something different every day. The staff at breakfast are all very helpful and lovely. Great location facing the sea, wide car park in front.

Tea and coffee making in the room would have been good, but I brought a travel kettle and borrowed two cups, so it wasn't a huge issue!
The most noticeable thing about Hotel Gran Rey is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Whilst it isn't luxurious, it is very clean and comfortable and excellent value, in my opinion. The sight and sound of the sea - especially at sunset - makes a stay really memorable. The central location is perfect for walking between the different parts of Valle Gran Rey. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and it was useful to have a fridge in the room.

As we said would be nice to have a decent coffee instead of having to go out and buy one, could also do with a mat in the bath for when you have a shower as bath is slippery when wet.
The Breakfasts were very good with a good variety of food & drinks though did not like the coffee, Beautiful view from our balcony, good location for walking and visiting restaurants

The cooked breakfast was very German orientated which is not to my personal liking. Queueing for the hot drinks machine was tedious. Disappointed the fresh fruit was tinned.
The hotel was perfect. The breakfast breads were impressive.

Breakfast was catered more for the Germans staying, not much option for the english taste.

Two single beds pushed together, not great for comfort. It is a little dated, but still in good condition.
Great location, well kept, clean and great staff. Would stay here again on another visit.

Probably the best place to be in the Valle. You have breakfast on the third-floor terrace, you relax and swim on the rooftop pool, you can enjoy a very good and incredibly varied buffet dinner at an unbeatable price, you can go for a swim in the sea just in front of the hotel. And the room with seaview and balcony is very nice, the service is good and very friendly... What else do you need to have a good holiday?

As it has a pool and restaurant/bar on the rooftop it's almost constantly noisy in the rooms underneath from chairs moving for example.
Breakfast was good. Location also. Although it's on a main street it's very quiet, traffic-wise and the ocean just across.Staff is very nice and helpful.
