Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A little tired and in need of a touch up here and there, however generally very good value. We stayed in a 3 bed room and one of the beds was very squeaky. Not the hostels fault as there is a water shortage, but there was no hot water in the morning to wash with
Very central, and easy to find. One street over is a multi-storey underground car park. Very good location for shops and restaurant's. Staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful, and spoke English (a plus for us )

Room OK but squeezing 3 beds into that room was very tight. Fortunately I was alone. I asked for a single comfortable chair and stool but despite their claiming it would be provided when I asked why it had not been provided they said 'you have it'. ''it' was a wooden chair tucked under a table. Shower over the bath has see better days. Basin drained very slowly.
Good location. Room OK for one. Several sofas in Communal space close-by to try to compensate for no space in the room.

Dark room, no view from windows, basic room without even coffee/tea making set like electric kettle and several cups, no info about wifi in the reception area, you have to ask the staff about it

I had no hot water on the morning and I had to shower with cold one. Walls were really thin so I could here everything from the room beside me.
It was in the plain centre and the staff was really nice. The room was clean and the check-in time was very flexible.

The room was a bit small but for the price it was fine. The shampoo in the room was practically finished but when we asked for it they immediately gave us a new shampoo
the staff was super nice, they also lent us two umbrellas for the beach and also recommended places to see in the evening in marbella. The room was clean and smelled good, a little small but definitely fine for the price

Bathroom could be bigger, shower was too small.
Perfect location, at the center of old town. Simple and small room, it was clean, it is Marbella and the room was ok for that price. There was luggage storage option. We found free parking around calle juan alameda, and reached the hotel with a small walk.

Noisy out on the street late at night but this is outside of the control of the hotel.
Staff were very helpful with directions and a wake up call. Also friendly.

We could hear the toilet flushes from the other bathrooms on the top floor as the rooms all face into the centre ofvthe building.
I think the Hostal is great value for money considering it's location in the centre of the old town. You just walk out of the front door and you are amongst it all. Super friendly check in staff and a nice sized room. Clean , comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for a shower in the morning.

The shower was poor. You had to play around with it for a bit to get it to the correct temperature. And the fitting on the wall that it sat in was just hanging on by a thead. There aren't any safes in the rooms.
The hostel is located directly in the centre of Marbella. In a perfect location. It's easy to get to even in a taxi. The room was basic but good. But you get exactly what you pay for as it is good value for money. The room was spotlessly clean.

this is not the Ritz, there’s definitely room for improvement, like having a better shower, or double glazed windows for the noise. please be advised there’s NO ELEVATOR if you have impaired mobility or are bringing large suitcases.
The location is perfect; everything is exceptionally clean; comfortable beds; warm shower and the staff is extremely helpful and kind. We were traveling with huge suitcases and Nestor was amazing in helping us bring them upstairs.

Everything was almost fine. But if the AC was a little bit less noisy, then it could be more appreciable.
Extraordinary location. Almost at the centre of the Marbella Old Town, but also very close to the New Town and Venus Beach is also not very far. Super friendly staff. Very clean and secure. Perfect for a vacation on budget
