Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Germany- hair on the pillow and bath. Unfortunately the service was over by around 17:00 and not cleaned before next day. - One of 2 Elavator was not working for 3 days . A big problem for long waiting. - We could not find a table for breakfast at 09:00. So went to another place. I believe there are many better options around. İ did not book breakfast originally. Also not in online check in. When I come to hotel first day, I told reception I will not pay in advance breakfast on advance but want to test it. And will pay during check out (if I like it) After waiting 10 minutes at 09:00, ther was no available table and I decided to check other places. When I requested to cancel all breakfasts, they initially said, they could not know if i ate ot not so they would charge 60 EUR for a breakfast I never had. Normally all hotels notes down the room number. It is not my fault they have not enough capacity nor check mechanism. After some discussions, reception accepted not charge bit it is not a favour but my right o believe. - There was no toilet brush in my room and i thought it was forgotten and requested one from the reception but I wa told it is a rule and they never out one die to fact that it is plastic and forbidden in Madrid hotels. I checked the internet but could.find the rule. I trust them despite could not validate. But I must say it is the first time I see a house or hotel room without toilet brush. Personnely o think that is absolutely stupid rule. I do not want to get in more details here after many guests eating many foods around and….! - There are some dead kakalaks in the garage. I believe that is normal in old and big cities. That is even good signal to see dead ones which means they regularly use medicines but I recommend them to clean them regularly. It was hard to clam down my kids about it :) - Another first time seen hotel feature was 2 layers sheets on the bad.
+ location is more than perfect. You can do everything and visit many places on foot. You can visit and give a break whenever you wish visiting the room. + Receptionst Marta was kind and friendly all the time. + All 3 receptionist could speak English which is a challenge I encounters generally in Spanish hotels. + reception take care of zone registration of the car. Car park daily 30 eur. Little to expensive but not sure general prices in the city centre, I guess it is ok. +sound isolation was good and I could sleep well. No sound at night very tranquil. +Internet was very fast.

MaltaThe air conditioning is centrally controlled and the rooms were unbearably hot. The lovely staff kindly changed our room but still it is definitely more convenient if you can control the temperature in your room yourself.

BulgariaVentilation not working in the bathroom, no toilet brush, would have been useful to have 2 chairs instead of 1 so that 2 people can have coffee or a meal, we found a long hair on the bathroom wall upon arrival, it wasn't a dealbreaker but cleaners should be more attentive
The beds were good, bathroom was spacious, location was great, staff was helpful

GibraltarWe used the stairs and the stairwell is not well lit. The spiral marble stairs are quite dark in colour and only have guiding blue lights at your feet. Better lighting within the stairwell should be considered for Health and Safety reasons.
The location is perfect, very central and close to many landmarks that are visited by tourists.

United States of AmericaThe rooms have been banged up a bit. This is evident throughout the property. We had two neighboring rooms. One was handicapped ready and had a very large bathroom. Our kids stayed in that room and they reported the bathroom smelled terrible once the shower was used. Otherwise, we enjoyed our one night stay. This place really has an excellent location and it seems like the better the location, the lower the quality of the place for a reasonable price. So we didn't have that high of expectations.
Location is excellent. Just across the street from Mercado Miguel and Plaza Mayor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Has an elevator, if that is important.

United KingdomThe room was showing obvious signs of wear with black stains across some of the walls. The door would not automatically lock when closed requiring a manual swipe upon exit which could result in unauthorised access if the person forgets to swipe. There was also an issue with the room safety box, which would not open after registering my card so I had to call reception who thankfully arrived within a couple of minutes to open it with a master key. There was building work being carried out on a lower floor which sometimes started before 9am.
The location was absolutely perfect. Across the road from Plaza Mayor and 5 minute walks from Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace. A supermarket is conveniently located next to the hotel as well as multiple cafes, dessert shops and restaurants.

United KingdomThere is a kettle in the room but no cups or coffee/tea. The staff were more than happy to provide these when asked but I'd have preferred it if these items were already in the room.
This is a good hotel in a very good location. Convenient for many sites and loads of restaurants and bars nearby. Madrid is a very busy and noisy city and despite being right across from Plaza Major, this hotel remains calm and quiet. The staff are exceptional - professional, friendly and helpful. I'd also like to commend the room cleaning staff who do a splendid job. Breakfast is good and varied - eggs, bacon, breads, pastries, fruits, cheese etc. There's a little supermarket just next door - handy to stock up on drinks and snacks. Definitely recommend this hotel.
