Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The restaurant 47 did not i form us about, that a tatar took 35 minuts to serve - and we told that we very in i hurry before going to opera.
Basicly we all liked the hotel VERY much.

Helpful and friendly staff. Room was so elegant and first class. I liked the extra touches with Roses and mats on the bedside for your feet during turndown. The staff at breakfast time was exceptional. Finally, the price was a bargain, considering it’s a 5 star experience

A gem of a classic hotel feels steeped in history and if you want modern the 5 floor only will do City views at the front are full of the city’s hustle and bustle, if you want peace and quiet the back of the hotel has it providing you don’t mind looking down at the restaurant or across to some rather shabby looking apartments
Great staff throughout the hotel especially reception, a 5 star experience Moved from the 4th to the 5th floor which has more contemporary rooms The hotel museum and artifacts in the room Good breakfast served at the table Pool looked nice but didn’t use as weather wasn’t warm enough Close to some really authentic tapas places and the lovey Retiro park The fountain at the bottom of the square is lovely and will no doubt be even better when the renovations around the square are complete

A 5 star hotel should never ever have a cheap shampoo/conditioner combo in the bathroom. Wow!
Absolutely outstanding location (close to wonderful restaurants, bars, shopping, and museums). Clean, elegant and spacious room. Impeccable, professional staff (welcoming and friendly). Loved the fresh candy in the lobby!

Junior Suite consisted of a double and twin bedroom, two bathrooms, two TVs but one chair! The bedrooms were on different floors accessed by an extremely dangerous marble staircase. Just weird

Bathroom a bit dated and shower screen not doing its job very well. Steps in the room (between bed section and sitting section) somewhat inconvenient and a possible hazard.
Perfect location in Madrid, comfortable room, friendly staff, free use of mini-bar with soft drinks, juice, water, and beer re-stocked daily. Excellent bed, towels, robes...

The only thing, perhaps difficult to solve, is the limited space to accommodate and manipulate the suitcases.
Excellent hotel and a privileged location to visit Madrid, very close to everything, even walking. Nice atmosphere. The room we chose for up to four people, has two separate rooms and has a good size by European standards. The room has a terrace with a beautiful view. Very good staff attention.

Noise from the lifts - unfortunately soundproofing on the rooms was quite basic. Lots of noise transferred through floor and door - always difficult for hotels in older buildings.
Staff were very welcoming. Loved the gowns in room and the complimentary mini bar in room. Bar at hotel also very friendly and value for money.

Bed raised on mezzanine area and risk of missing the step and falling when getting out of bed on right hand side.

The checkout was too slow in the morning. There was only one person working and several people were trying to check out at the same time.
