Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNothing!! But note about island… Cash only island, restaurants (as mentioned pricey) bikes & accommodation. Has ATM machines but as overseas tourist- Australian, makes getting money out expensive. Plan cash before you come to the island.
On arrival we collected the keys 10-20m from the ferry at their restaurant. As mentioned before lots of manageable stairs (if that is an issue, but not a lot by European standards 🤔). Once inside all on one level, Rm 5. Great views as you walk up! We liked their response, “we are here to make your visit pleasurable so if not satisfied or if there is a problem please contact one of our staff and we will solve things immediately.” This is a respected response since they are willing to help at the time & set the tone. Large entry foyer, good space for luggage, then the room was lovely, 2 comfortable single beds together ( this seems to be common as we move through Croatia). Didn’t realise this at first 👍. Good size room to accommodate bed with ample space around it. Bathroom off foyer so don’t disturb partner during the night. Fantastic window looking out at glimpses of bay & terraces. Our host looked after, luggage after check out for the whole day. Very accommodating and friendly would recommend. Note: National Park Pass-credit card, fantastic facilities for all levels, trails, bikes, get bikes cheaper inside the park- 20€ for 2hrs, electric train, cafe, tourist bureau; solar boats to monastery & the most friendly staff, all in the pass, 500m from accommodation.

United KingdomDon't expect anything too fancy, the bed could have been a bit more comfortable and there are a lot of steps which may be a problem if you are travelling with heavy suitcases. There is only one shop in walkable distance and it was closed most of the time we were there.
Really good value, great location on the island, easy distance to the ferry port and the national park. Little apartment that had most things - WiFi, air con, shower, kitchen with fridge, kettle and a couple of hobs. Good sized double bed.

United KingdomEverything was good.
Superb location adjacent to Pomena port and entrance to the National Park. The apartment was exactly as listed, simple and functional, just as needed and expected. Very good value indeed - beforehand it almost seemed too good to be true but in fact it exceeded expectations and was a very comfortable stay. The sea view over the harbour is beautiful. The car park immediately behind the apartment was very convenient for catching our early morning taxi (and it meant we didn't need to carry our bags down the stairs). The staff were friendly and attentive (indeed, everyone we met on Mljet was lovely), and were exceptionally flexible regarding our early check in (11am) and early check out (4am), which is a very rare thing. I would stay again without hesitation. Our stay was only one night but I'd have happily stayed a week or more.

United States of AmericaOur bed linens were incomplete with no top sheet. Also the shower head had to be hand-held to take a shower because the hook was broken.
We appreciated an early-check in, coming right off the ferry. The location of the guesthouse is excellent, perfect for visiting Mljet National Park and close to restaurants. Also our room was clean.

PolandThe hot water supply was running out fast (about 2 mins or so) after which the water becomes cool, but still acceptable for a very quick shower.
A good place to stay and explore the national park. There is a small fridge in the room. The room itself is big and comfortable. There are restaurants and a small grocery shop nearby.

United KingdomThere were a lot of stairs to the apartment which were rather tiring and I'm quite fit. Obviously this can't be changed and if you want the view you have to be high up.
Very central location. Pomena is s lovely village with friendly people. Beautiful surroundings the national Park is breathtaking. We hired e-bikes and rode around the lakes.

IrelandI have no critical unlikes just some informative factors to be aware of. Payment is by cash and depending on the apartment available there might be a lot of steps to negotiate up to the accommodation, an important factor if you have any mobility issues. Breakfast was not included but there are lots of choices in places to eat nearby.
The apartment was spacious and clean and could easily accommodate up to 4 people (2 bedrooms). It was quiet and comfortable and the location is superb, right in the heart of Pomena on Mljet island. Attached is an excellent restaurant with discounts for patrons staying in the apartments. The area is safe, the accommodation secure and the apartments are perfect for solo travelers, couples or families. Pomena is a very peaceful place at night, most tourists come and go on the daily catamarans, however, it is worth spending more time to explore the island further.

Belgium- very small indoor seating space for 4 persons in case of rain or cold (not applicable for us) - curtains in the bedroom let through all the light (sun as from 6h30 AM), so bring your sleeping mask 😉 - small and basic kitchen so not ideal if you plan to really prepare warm meals (we went to the restaurants so not an issue for us) - prepare for a long staircase to go to the harbor and NP (not a problem for us, but good to know)
- fantastic view - location perfect to visit the Nat Park - private parking - actually no car needed as the passenger ferry stops across the appartment - outdoor shared eating area is very nice - very nice town with small supermarket at walking distance - restaurant tip: Konoba Ana

United KingdomIt would be helpful to have a kettle in the room.
Great location, not far from beach or nature reserve and right in Pomena. We took a chance on this guesthouse despite some of the reviews and it worked well for us. The rooms are basic - like a Premier Inn but without carpets or a kettle. However, the cost of the rooms is in keeping with that. We had two rooms and both were clean, as were the bathrooms. The air con units worked really efficiently. The beds were comfortable with clean cotton sheets. There is a mini fridge. We had breakfast downstairs some days and they give 10% off food if you are staying. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Some tables outside and we choose one for pre’s with a view of the bay.

CroatiaExcellent location, just by the sea (it's mainly a marina, but you can have a quick swim as well) and not even five minutes on foot from the entrance to the national park. The staff was nice and friendly and the cafe/restaurant downstairs was very reasonably priced. It was clean and comfortable and the wooded area just behind the house had a couple of tables, perfect for sipping coffee (or wine) after a day in the sun. It's not for those who'd like to self-cater though, as there is no kitchen, or a simple kettle, for that matter, one could use. As stated in numerous reviews, they only accept cash so stock up.

BelgiumIt wasn't clear at fist where to go, but after calling the host it turned out we had to check-in at restaurant Pomena at street level (the apartment is up the stairs) which is the same owner. The apartment itself is quite basic, but fine for 1 or 2 nights, plenty of other reviews mention the details. We had not noticed during booking that payment is cash only. Not really an issue, there are ATMs nearby. Just make sure you withdraw cash by paying in Kunas instead of euros, this will give you a much better exchange rate. The airco in the apartment did not work, which we mentioned to the host, but he seemed unable to fix it, unfortunately (no time, apartment was booked every day). The staff did not always seem very friendly (but that was the case in several other places we visited), but they did allow us to store our luggage during our bicycle tour. All in all definitely a positive experience!
It's a very nice location, right at the bay of Pomena and not very expensive. At 5 minutes walk there is a small lake for swimming in the national park. There are plenty of bike rentals in the street, which allows you to enjoy the rest of the national park. It's absolutely gorgeous over there, definitely worth a visit for a few days. We were there only one day, but that is hardly enough. Recommended restaurant at sunset: Konoba Ana. Great food, great view and great service!
