When I was there it really was cold, both times. I didn't blame the owners though. The second time they gave me a receipt and forgot to take my money, so I had to remind them ! Do make a note of the phone number as the hosts will come to give you the keys and you'll have a short wait if you don't warn them before you get there (do your shopping in the meantime !).

I really like this place and it was the second time I stopped there. It's on the outskirts of the town with on-street parking or in the courtyard. The apartments really are that and you could use it as a base for a holiday exploring the area or just a getaway where no-one will find you as it has a proper kitchen etc. There is a shop open late opposite with all basic needs and a cash point a few hundred yards up the road. It's about a mile and a half into town where there are genuinely good restaurants and some food to be found until 10 or 11pm. In hindsight I'd consider getting a cab unless you really like 0% beer as Hungary has regulations against any detectable alcohol when driving. It's an area that has a lot of community events and the first time we were there there was an open air concert. You can also choose to use the motorway border crossing or a tiny backroad one into a quiet bit of Romania.

The staff was more than friendly. Mrs. Helga and her husband were welcoming and available for check in very late in the evening. The apartment was very clean and had everything a traveller needs. The mattresses were very comfortable, the rooms were warm and very spacious. After our check out we had already left Mako when our baby needed to be changed. We called Mrs. Helga and she allowed us to use the apartment from which we had already checked out.

The apartment is clean in General, but under the beds and on the ceilings can do another cleaning, bit just as feedback, we felt very well there.

This is a second time we stayed at Helga Apartman. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious, with big kitchen with enough cooking facilities, the beds are very comfortable. Locarion is very good.

Our stay was amazing! Upon arrival Helga and her husband greeted us with complimentary local drinks and explained us everything we had questions about. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best possible! Hagymatikum was 4-5 min away from apartment . Pretty much everything is 3-5 min away,witch is super convenient. The host waited for as offering a welcome drink. It was nice after the long journey. The apartment was warmed in the cold winter day when we arrived. The place is spacious, comfortable bed, full equipped kitchen, bathroom. Nice and clean. Private car park.
