Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hostess was really friendly and helpful. She answered to our questions and helped us a lot even before our stay. Place was clean and comfortable. Area was peaceful and there was few restaurants and store nearby. Additional Irish breakfast was really good!

The bed cover was a bit too small. It only covered the top of the bed and kept sliding off during the night. We were charged more than we were quoted (some sort of commission by the credit card company).
Nice, quiet guesthouse. The host is very accommodating. We did not partake in the breakfast, which is offered for an additional cost. Parking is right in front. The bus stop to head into Galway is about a 4 minute walk away.

This was a quaint BnB right on Salthill with unobstructed views of the sea. The breakfast was pretty good. The beds were a little tired, but sufficient to the task. Very kind, helpful staff and the place was good for families.

Was surprised that breakfast was extra. Misleading that you are booking Bed and Breakfast but in fact only getting Bed! However lady did give me breakfast as part of price but just some feedback for future guests, it’s misleading.

The beds were not entirely comfortable but really not a huge issue. There isn't much to complain about at all! We loved everything and we had really great privacy. I'm glad we could stay here where it was super calm.
The Bed and Breakfast was very quaint and a perfect setup for two people traveling. The owner was extremely kind and accommodating. The check-in and check-out were very flexible and I felt very comfortable in the location!

Rooms rather old fashioned including 'step-in-bath for your shower' arrangement. Only ok on breakfast, precooked. Was surprised to be asked to pay in cash as we are all using our cards now.
Great location. Parking available. Beds quite comfortable.

Single bed was very hard and uncomfortable and unfortunately I did not sleep well. My mums double bed was comfortable though.
Lovely host with a clean room. Close to Salthill Promenade which was so lovely.

All good, nothing to complain about.
Home away from home. Great value for money, super location, with excellent parking facilities. Noreen took great care of us from our arrival to our last day. You will be very well taken care of if you choose Seashore Lodge guesthouse, that’s for sure.

Very friendly people and unlike hotels a little bit less formal, great location and on the 402 bus route so 15 minutes to Galway city centre. Nice walk to Salthill and all round really good 👍

Recommend adding an extra bed sheet in between the comforter and bed sheet.
Nice older home that offers a standard breakfast option. Not bad but not great either. Quite location that was easy to find. We did not spend alot of time here as we drove in later in the day from Dingle and left in the morning for Kylemore Abbey. Owner was friendly as was the staff for breakfast. Seemed like there were other rooms to relax if someone was staying for a longer period of time or during the day.

Hot water bit variable. VERY pricy for what you get compared with other BnBs stayed at in Ireland. But then Galway hotels also very expensive.
