Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandAnnoyingly, I am a very light sleeper so I requested a quite room when booking. Our room was at the front of the house with a nice outlook and I suspect our hosts thought they were doing us a favor. Unfortunately the road which is about 40 meters away, so not close, is rather busy in the evenings and from about 6am. Also on our first night some guests arrived late and someone left at 3am in the morning and the young couple in the room below us talked late into the night so my sleep was quite a disturbed one. Now, I'm the first to admit the above is not going to bother most guests, my husband slept through it all, but if you have acute hearing and a tendency to not sleep well I suggest you ask for a back room or purchase some airplugs like I did for the second night. I would return here again but would insist on a back room even though the outlook is not as pretty as the front rooms. Also the shower in our room wasn't brilliant but there was plenty of hot water! Maybe the shower head is a bit clogged and could be looked at?
The hosts are lovely, the breakfast, chosen from a blackboard menu, was great and the omlettes are the best I have had! The location is close to the wonderful town of Westport. If it's not raining it's very walkable. The house is very pretty and the rooms are on the smaller side but probably because the bed is huge which iwas great! The bathroom is spacious. There is a TV longe for guest use and a couple of seating areas. Patrice and his wife are welcoming and engaging hosts. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend it to others visiting the area which is quite delightful with great landscapes, restaurants and people.

United States of AmericaSome guests may be a bit put off by staying in an older property, but others may find it charming, as we did. Our bathroom was very narrow and the shower was a bit challenging to operate. None of these features were problematic for us.
The property was located about 1 mile from Westport town center. 20 minute pedestrian protected walk to town. Breakfasts were made to order and delicious. The house is warm and inviting. The hosts were welcoming.

United States of AmericaOur bed was not all that comfy- probably needs to be replaced. Not too bad, but not good.
We really enjoyed our stay- the location was a plus- close to town and also close to the Greenway which was the reason we were in Westport. We were able to leave our car at the b&b for two days while we were at Achill which was very nice and appreciated.

The welcome and the hospitality throughout our stay was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts in order to make sure our stay was a lovely experience. The room was extremely comfortable and overlooked the front garden. Helen and Patrice provided a delicious vegan and vegetarian breakfast on the three mornings we were there. The success of our road trip was undoubtedly due to the high quality accommodation we booked, and this was one of our favourites! We can't wait to return! Westport was a great town, and we enjoyed Westport house and garden and The Clew Bay cruise. We would recommend Arno's Bistro for excellent food and service. The Yard at the back of Matt Molloys and The Porterhouse provided lively musical nights. It took about 20 minutes to walk from the town centre to Woodside Lodge.
