Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe funicular railway to get from the parking lot to the hotel was inoperable (mentioned in other reviews) for the whole of our stay. You then have to climb almost 300 steps to get to the reception area. They will bring up your cases but it would be an issue if you have any mobility issues. They do not even offer a drink or credit for the inconvenience.
The hotel location is fantastic, The view from the infinity edge pool is wonderful, The hotel is older but well maintained. The breakfast selection was great and included the choice of some hot options

CanadaThey really need to get better signage - the driveway into the hotel is actually another hotel (Pietra di Luna) which makes things super confusing especially since HBL has no signs. Cleanliness could be improved, as there were ants present on our floor. Additionally, I was excited to workout in the outdoor gym but none of the cardio equipment works / it’s in complete disrepair and the weights were so old and basically useless. we had to leave really early at 5am to drive back to Rome to catch our flight and the staff could have made things run smoother for us - the cable car had broken down (obviously not their fault) but it was pretty dark walking down all those stairs at 5am and then on top of that, confusion / miscommunication on where our car keys were (despite confirming where they would be left the night before).
Property is beautiful - the pool and all the gardens / different sitting areas are lovely. I don’t think you can find a better view anywhere else, including Positano. very fun taking the cable car up to the hotel. Our room had a large patio off of it which had an incredible view of Amalfi. Maiori is a beautiful town and while there are still great restaurants and lovely beaches, it’s much quieter / less touristy than Positano which was great. Nice to have the boardwalk along the water as well and the town is relatively flat compared to other areas of Amalfi. The staff (particularly Diego who works the downstairs reception) was absolutely lovely. Would definitely stay again if they rectify certain issues (I.e. the ant situation / cleanliness and the gym).

United States of AmericaThis place is so wonderful but totally unapproachable for anyone with mobility issues. There are so many stairs it is a pity that there is no way to get to your room without many many stairs. The pool is so wonderful but the hours of use are too short 10-7 in the hot days, the place could provide better service for those outdoors enjoying the wonderful hotel.
The view from the hotel was so beautiful and comfort of bed wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the balcony was the most picturesque and relaxing. The pool to cool off fantastic and the option to have use of chairs on the beach and towels. Having a wonderful restaurant is a high light.

United States of AmericaOur suite was so charming with a cute loft area for our college-aged kids and an amazing view. We were only there two nights as we were traveling the coast, but the air conditioning never worked in our unit. We made it, but were very warm at times.
Breathtaking views, outstanding dining, wonderful service. Maiori is absolutely the best location on the Amalfi coast. A hidden gem. And, this is your castle on the cliff with views like no other! The charm of the village sounds, the shadows and lighting shifts over the cliffs all day long, the smells of botanical blooms and the sound of gentle waves lapping the shore can be heard from your balcony and your bed! Enjoy breakfast overlooking the water and dinner overlooking Minori. Great location, excellent staff, reasonable prices, wonderful food!

United States of AmericaThe room was pretty beat up with lots of chipping paint and wear throughout. In general it was a great view with lots of possibility but definitely not a 5 star hotel given the condition of the rooms. It's also a very difficult to find the entrance and not described well on the website or in any communications.
Gorgeous view, great staff and very nice breakfast. If it was warmer out the pool would have been really nice.

IrelandThe hotel could be updated a bit as it doesn’t appear as a 5 star hotel, it is a bit outdated in parts of the property. I expected the service to be a bit better than what we experienced as it is a 5 star hotel also.
The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, the breakfast was lovely and the pizza from the terrace was delicious. The pool was beautiful.

IrelandThe pool was rarely managed with no clean towels available. Reception would tell you that towels were by the pool. Then you would have to walk back up to say no there are no towels. We eventually just took our own when we thought of it from the room.
The hotel is very nice but the what is not clear is that after the lift takes you up to the hotel you must go another 120 steps before you get to main reception where there is a lift to the rooms. To the pool is probably 40. All my family are fit and like to exercise but I must say I did not enjoy this!

Czech RepublicOn the other hand the interior of the hotel is relatively “used” and a lot of items need renovation. This applies primarily to the bathroom. We were a bit surprised that we had just one night table (i.e., belonging to just one of two beds), only one door to the balcony was functional (the second one-unfortunately the one leading to the sea view-it was possible to open just for 20 cm). The staff was very polite and helpful, however a bit slow. Breakfast was very good, however, no English breakfast available, no fresh vegetables and no eggs, bacon etc. To be honest, we expected a bit more of 5-star hotel.
The hotel has an extraordinary location with the best view of Amalfi coast. Rooms are very spacious and the sea view is amazing.

United States of AmericaThere are two restaurants on the property. One is very high end and the other has pizza and pasta. The food was great, but the menu was limited.
Everything about this hotel is amazing! We were so blown away during our stay! The hotel sits far above the other buildings on the cliff and the views are unbelievable! The service was great and I really felt taken care of during our trip. It’s definitely a 5 star hotel in every way! And breakfast was amazing!
