To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Quite peaceful location. Family run Renovated 17th century to high standard. Great Pool and lovely large garden areas. Good continental choice breakfast. Restaurant on site and Ma Ma was doing the cooking - all freshly prepared eat inside or out. Lovely staff who made yo feel welcome.

United States of AmericaI had an amazing stay at Casale L’Antico Carro! The property was gorgeous and just as pictured. My room was a queen sized bed with a en-suite bathroom. Air conditioning and wifi worked perfectly. The property has an onsite restaurant and pool which make this truly a resort style B&B. The restaurant food was delicious and you can see the large garden where all the fresh produced is grown. Truly farm to table. Ambiance of the restaurant is Italian rustic chic. Tip, order the house red wine and the orecchiette pasta - delicious! Breakfast was a typical selection of local meats, cheeses, cereal and homemade pastry cakes. The apricot cake with an Americano coffee was my favorite! If your stay happens to fall on a Sunday, the restaurant will be closed but have no fear, there is a delightful alternative restaurant 5 minutes walk down the road - Barbabi. They take the classics and put a modern, inventive twist on everything from pasta to pizzas. Don’t sleep on the deconstructed cheesecake! So good! Overall my stay at the B&B was nothing short of blissful and magic. It was only enhanced by the warm and friendly staff who were more than accommodating. I will definitely be booking again in the future. If you are looking for a classic “Under the Tuscan Sun” experience, this is your sign. Book the trip ;) Pro Tip: book your transportation/ taxi from the train station to the B&B ahead of time. I didn’t and was stuck for a while trying to find an available driver. I made the mistake of assuming I could find a taxi at the train station. This is hard to do as there are a very limited amount of drivers in the town and most are reserved weeks ahead of time. I lucked out but if I had it to do all over again, I would definitely secure my transportation ahead of time for train station pick up/ drop offs and rides up the hill to the town of Cortona. But don’t let that deter you in any way from booking. This place is an absolute gem!
