The down side of the private situation is that you need to drive to go out in the evening which suited us but was not for everyone. The room terrace was shaded because of the normal summer climate which suited us but might not suit real sun worshippers. A choice of a smaller set menu would be good. Four courses is too much for us so we never had it and missed out on some Sardinian specialities.

the situation is very good. the beach facilities, the pool, outdoor showers all great and well maintained. Room was large with a great terrace and shaded. Breakfast is excellent if you accept that there is a strong Italian influence

Everything was amazing! We would absolutely recommend Hotel Don Diego. What a beautiful location, great facilities and staff. Everyone was super helpful and made our stay memorable. The room was fantastic with a view over looking the sea. Breakfast was great with many options no matter the dietary need. It was a 5 star experience. Thanks a lot!

The cost x benefit was unbalanced to me, as the rooms clearly need renovations, and we had problems with the food quality - it’s not part of we expect in an Italian territory for sure. So I’d say we paid a quite premium price for a hotel that does not present it as a four star structure-wise.

Based on own’s Booking.com criterias, postives are the location - a beatiful bay with cristal waters and stunning views - and the staff - that even already working at the end of the season, showed resilience, hard-work and warmness.

The service was wonderful to include front desk, wait, and housekeeping staff. Breamfast was delicious and always a fine spread. The view from the terrace every morning was unreal, a picture perfect setting overlooking the sea out towards the island of Tavolara and Molara. The marina had boats to rent which made for one of our favorite days out on the sea traveling to the clear turquoise pools if Molara then later docking at Tavolara Island to have lunch at the Corona Restaurant.

The food in general needs a lot of improvement for this price. We found both the breakfast and the lunch by the pool quite dissapointing. With better food the hotel could really be something special.

The location, the beach, the amazing view of the sea + the garden / planting of the hotel is beautiful.

If I had to find something then the beds are a little hard but it didn’t spoil things at all. Also our room had a little bit of a smell from the drains in the toilet but again, it is such a wonderful place it didnmt really make any difference. Taxis are hard to come by and a little expensive but that’s a Sardinia thing. You just need to plan and add a little more to your budget if you want a taxi.

This is such a great hotel and the pictures are a little dated because the hotel has been updated since the pics. The staff are amazing

The food quality at lunch was average, the breakfast box for our early stay below average.

The location and serenity of it is absolutely stunning. It attracts a different style of travelers/ tourist with a level of class. The service on the poolside, near the beach, towels, just everything is so good that you will quickly decide not to leave the resort style hotel. The food served for dinner (a la carte) was really excellent. As well, the breakfast was really good. The room, though just the standard, was really cosy and comfortable. The personal remember your name in just hours and make you feel at home right away.
