Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe shower area was small and no more than OK. There were no coffee/tea facilities in the room but you could always get "proper" coffee from Reception (and other drinks) 24hrs/day for a very modest charge so overall this was not a big issue. The hotel is a tall building (reception on floor 5 - upper street level) and the breakfast restaurant on the ground floor (city centre level) so you are dependent on the single lift, which gets busy, unless you don't mind running up and down stairs!
The staff were excellent and very helpful at all times. The room was very clean and was maintained to a very high standard throughout our stay. We really appreciated that. The hotel is right by the central tourist area so there are lots of restaurant options for evening meals.

GermanyThe shower cabin was super small and leaky, interiors are very simple.
Great location with direct access to funivia to the castle and to the central trading street, just 7 mins walk from the see. Good choice of cafes and restaurants nearby. We were lucky to park our big van just in front of the entrance for free. We were provided with a kettle upon the first request.

United States of AmericaThe shower is the size of a small phone booth with awkward bi-fold doors. Very uncomfortable to shower for the average person. The heating/air conditioner unit started leaking water ( perhaps due to the rain) but it was a nuisance.
The hotel is clean and well kept. Process to check in was easy and pleasant and hotel backs up to city center with access to restaurants, etc. Breakfast was included in the rate we paid and was basic and adequate for the price.

FranceBreakfast room was a bit small which means that you might need to wait to be seated depending on what time you arrive. Also there is no restaurant at the hotel so you need to go to town but ok there are many restaurants at max 5 min walking
Great room for a family (junior family suite) of four. Breakfast had a lot variety. Hotel is centrally placed with easy parking in front of it. Lots of restaurants around and it is only 15min walking from either the harbor or the train station to visit the 5 Terre.

New ZealandThe lift. It was slow and didn't always stop at the floor requested. The hotel is on the side of a hill. Reception at level 5, breakfast and town level 1 so it was important. The bed seemed to slope from head to feet and made sleeping uncomfortable.
The location in the middle of town but drivable with some parking at the door. Good sized room, had everything you needed. Breakfast was good.

FinlandThe bed was a bit too soft and the walls must have been made of paper. If you fancy a good hair dryer, bring your own. The one in the room was a joke.
The room was big and the location was great, in terms of accessing Cinqueterre. Breakfast was ok, nicer for people who have a sweet tooth. The reseption staff was very helpful.

United KingdomIf you want water you need to leave a note for the cleaners to leave you a bottle or two as you will only get one when you arrive. Beware of the safety deposit box (SDB) - it's not secured to the wall. I did raise this point with a member of staff but they felt it wasn't of great importance as 'no-one is going to walk off with a SDB). All the hotels I have ever been to, the SDB was fixed to the wall as it should be. I had to take my valuables with me each day. As room 603 is part of a shared balcony, the door to the balcony is part of the bathroom. There is no blind/curtain to pull across for privacy. I often had to turn the light off when using the shower/toilette. Please be aware that if people in the negihbouring room are on the balcony they will see your outline. The glass is partially glazed with a stick-on film and there is a type of muslin curtain. Also, if anyone is smoking on the shared balcony and you are non-smokers then this may be a problem for you. The room door frame (see pic) looked as if it was forced-through at some point as there was a little splintered wood there. The door is secure but this should be made good.
The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the station but its Ok. You can either walk through the main street as it will decend and you can take the public lift or you can keep to the left as you walk from the station and enter straight into the hotel. (Note: If you choose the latter, you will enter the hotel at floor level 5). The location is excellent as you are right in the main street. Town center is only a short walk. There are lots of food/restaurant choices. The room I had was room 603 with a shared balcony. You have lovely views of the rear part of the city with mountainous backdrop. The bed was large and comfortable. The aircons worked well. The room and bathroom was clean. The hotel serves continental breakfast with a good selection of pastries (my fav). The staff were nice and helpful as to where I could get some nice local eats. I spent 4 nights here at CDH La Spezia and overall had a pleasant stay.

AustraliaNot much of a choice for breakfast and the hot stuff was cold!
The room was spacious and we were able to get a park out the front. It was in a great location, close to all the shopping and dining area. It was only an ten minute walk to the train station which we used to get to Cinque Terre. Everything was close by, it was great!
