Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Front desk attendant was very generous with time after checking out of my room. I was able to store my bags, use toilet and charge my phone before my train.

At first night we got tiny room that didn’t Mach value paid. After one night hotel team changed our room to much better one that also seems like booking pictures

Our fault, we wrongly booked a quadruple room but just for 2 adults and 1 kid. They let us find the crib, but we didn't have the fourth bed. I've asked for it, obviously paying for it, but it was too late and the staff was no longer on site. Our fault but otherwise the staff was super kind and nice!
I was here with my wife and 3 kids, everything was clean and relatively comfortable. The staff was always super responsive and helpful finding us the parking even though we didn't book it in advance. Very easy to reach in the very center of Florence, easy to park, good size elevator (for the stroller and luggage). Walkable with lots of things to do and see nearby. I absolutely recommend it.

Small bathroom but it's still clean.

The older male front desk person was rude and kicked us out of hotel when we were told at check-in by a lady, who put info in computer, that we could add 2 more nights. He screamed and cursed at us. He was awful.

Nothing! :) I like everything!
I am happy that I've chosen Hotel Cosimo de' Medici Florence. Great location, easily accessible to most places! All within walking distance to heaps of interesting places. The room is spacious and clean, the bed is very comfy and all the staff served with smiles. They were very helpful. The breakfast was nice! :) I will definitely invite my friends to stay here. I will come back when I visit again! :)

As with most areas near train station - it can come across as a little mixed / busy as a neighbourhood

There was not a front desk staff available 24 hours a day. You were given a phone number in case of an emergency.
The staff was friendly & helpful. Very centrally located. We walked mostly everywhere. The breakfast was delicious.

Lovely hotel close to the train station. Walking distance to the main square. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really nice too. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again

The broken elevator.
Breakfast was fabulous. Only reason I didn't give this hotel a 5 star was because the elevator was broken and I had to bring my luggage down several flights of stairs.

The shower area was slightly small and there were limited selections of breakfast
The room is very clean and comfortable. The toilet is very clean as well and the water pressure is just nice :) It is also very accessible and the staff were very friendly. The staff provided clear instructions when we self check in the hotel at midnight :)

Flat pillows- maybe that’s an Italian thing? The furniture was a little beat up- but functional
