Not a single thing

I could not have more praise for this family run resort. The experience was made even more enjoyable by the professional and courteous staff, from front desk to dining and house keeping, there was nothing that was too much for these guys to make our holiday experience so enjoyable. A special mention for the restaurant, we dined here the first night and enjoyed it so much we returned for a second evening and we’re not disappointed. Located in a quiet village a few km from Otranto, a very good base to explore southern Puglia and Otranto.

The property was faultless.

The apartment was spacious and the patio was massive in a sunny location. Washing line was a brilliant touch. Lovely bathroom and amazing swimming pool.

I would say everything, maybe they should revise their menu price, it was very expensive compared to other places. we ended up getting dinner always outside the hotel.

Amazing stay!! The staff was very friendly, special mention to Amanda and Stefano that helped us during all our stay. The hotel is located in a ver quiet place, it was great for relaxing. Also, breakfast was 5 stars, everything so fresh!! Loved the scrambled eggs!!

There was nothing we didn’t like about the hotel :) if you enjoy somewhere a little less touristy and more relaxed we’d recommend not visiting Otranto and instead heading to places like Galatina and Santa Maria de Leuca.

We have had a wonderful four night stay at Mulino a Vento. Everything about the hotel is great- the location is very well suited for exploring the coast, the room was very spacious and had a lovely peaceful patio area, the pool area is fantastic and has a great range of loungers and cabanas without feeling ‘resorty’, the restaurant food was delicious (with lots of vegetarian options, which is not often the case in the area), breakfast was a treat, and the staff were very nice and helpful. We can’t wait to return for a future holiday. We’d really recommend hiring a car for exploring the area- there didn’t seem to be a lot of public transport.

Outside the resort was a little untidy . We understand this is nothing to do with the hotel but was not pleasant to drive through .

A well maintained resort gardens and swimming pool. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean complete with a balcony. The breakfast and dinner in the evenings were exceptional.

The food wasn't as nice as expected, and is quite expensive compared to other places. There are not many places to eat in Uggiano itself so you are limited for choice unless you drive to Otranto. You have to rent a towel for the swimming pool.

The staff are very nice and all speak English. The grounds are pretty and the pool is nice. The gym area is actually outdoors which is different to the photos.

The resort is hard to find, our gps sents us in circles and laneways, maybe our navigation skills needed improving. The road entries to the resort need to be repaved to improve entry presentation to the resort.

The resort facilities and grounds where lovely. Fantastic breakfast, the breakfast staff were all lovely. Lovely bar and pool. The mojito was the best so far.

Stayed for the third time at this resort and once again I had a lovely time. Everybody is warm and welcoming, friendly with a personal touch. The pool is the best place to relax with a drink (or two) after a trip around Puglia, breakfast has everything you can imagine and the restaurant is excellent. I would be okay with smaller portions. Room and beds were comfortable and the patio is nice and spacious.

Long waits between 2 dishes at dinner (at several dinners it was 1 hour), this aspect could be improved. But worth the wait!

Everything was superb, the premises, the breakfast which consist of several tables of local specialties (sweet and salty), the restaurant, the serenity of the premises, the cleanness, the politeness of everyone. We loved it

Amazing quiet hotel with exceptional restaurant and top quality service. This place was our base for exploring the Salento, and it served that purpose well. The staff was really nice, we did a tour of the local olive oil mill with them (which gives the resort its name) which we absolutely recommend. There's plenty of space both in the rooms as well as the grounds, and it's very quiet, perfect to enjoy either the pool or evening dinners and drinks at the wine bar. The food in the restaurant was really delicious, and they offer local typical dishes and wines. There are plenty of really good beaches less than a 30 minute drive from the place or you can just enjoy the pool if you prefer. We recommend driving around as the local village (Uggiano la Chiesa) doesn't have a lot to offer apart from nice locals. Mulino a Vento is a gem!
